My wife makes a fantastic soup from them,,,in fact she will be doing one next few days as we got a couple,,,she also did a beef casserole last week that had one in,,, The soup she does is a little bit spicy,,think it has cumin in it,,,it's bloody lovely

There are some modern proisons that act quik gaz,,,it's just there not used as much,,,and tend to be for professional use,,,the stuff you get at b and q ,,,tends to be the antiquagulants... Alphachloralse,,,is fast acting ,,,if I remember right I think it's the one that lowers body temperature ,,,I could be wrong on that though.... It could be many different things that ferrets die of,,,,but I must say with them all being healthy one min,,,and dead the next,,it does sound like some kind of poisoning,,,,trouble is finding out wich... Can't imagin a ferret eating a block,, as there cereal based,, most carnivores turn there nose up at them,, but I have seen a dog eat blue wheat,,, and my Tara has eaten old blocks,,,, but some dogs will eat out... Also for a ferret to eat a block,,, its not a quick death takes a few days,,, in winch time the ferrets would start to look wobbly ,,,and you would get blue ferret shit in the corner... If these ferrets have eaten a poison,,, it would I think be a quick acting one,,, Matt the rat of this site,, or Phil Lloyd might have more info on the poisoning side of things

I honestly don't know,,,, I must say it does point towards poisoning with the bait box being next door,, be interesting to know what bait was being used..

Most rat poisons are slow acting though,,, there are some acute poisons,, but not not commonly used nowadays,,, so if the ferrets were healthy one min,,, then dead a few hours later with no warning it kind of rules out most rat poisons,,,, also secondary poisoning from eating a dead poisoned animal is a complex subject... and lots of animals can eat poisoned animals with no ill effects,,, like I say very complex subject,,, there is something called an ld 50 chart,, that shows animals susceptibility to difrent poisons.... If you really want an answer ,,your going to have to dig at least one

This is my very simple recipie.. Empty bottle ,,,fill with sloes up to about 1/3 up,,,no more than half way,,,now i add sugar,,,not loads,,I just pour it in and let it fill the gaps between the berrys,,,,then top up with gin,,vodka,,or whatever ..... That's it dead easy,,,once a week roll it round,,,a little
