  1. They was racing there last year Is it only for non peds?
  2. Annette, I just got my hob snipped last Friday, he was done at 12 noon, and when i went to pick him up at 4.30pm he was well groggy, the vet advised i pick him up at 7pm, which i did and keep him in the house overnight, in case he caught a chill. the next morning he was fine, and went out into the Hutch, on his own, I will keep him isolated for a week, then as the Jill is not in season i will move her back with him. I will watch for any signs of her coming in, then remove her, as my Vet checked and said its recomended six weeks after the operation, he can be used on in season Jills. Hope t
  3. I suppose it depends on the state of them, think he charged me £20 for a service, give him a ring, I recently purchased a mark 3 and i just cant take to it, with its space sounds, does my head in, there was nothing wrong with the mark 1, except give the reciever a colour change. It was just Deben wanting to make more money from us. And i think its scandalous, that they refuse to fix or service the mark1s good job there are lads out there like Mick dadd.
  4. Is the above club still running its based in Cumnock, and can Pedigree Whippets run, or is it only non Peds?
  5. If you go on the Working whippet Forum, they have a stud Dog section, where you can take your pick.
  6. If you can get away with it, I would be drastic and cut it right back, so next Winter you should be able with a little tidying up be able to net up. the season is nearly over anyway.
  7. Love the dogs mate. whats the nearest one? Collie/grey/whippet How are they at Bury marking? i suppose they would have a good nose on them?
  8. I suppose they would be difficult to come across, when working pedigree whippet pups are making £300. dont know what a breeder would expect to charge for a pup of this cross, must say i like the look of this cross, appear to make cracking rabbit dogs, and I would expect to excell at the feretting game.
  9. Years ago KPS Nets advertised a different method for making purse nets, which they claimed was easy, I did try it and found it okay, do they still advertise this method? They recomended Hemp as it could be single knoted, but would spun poly do, anyone help?
  10. Years ago KPS Nets brought out a different way of knitting purse nets, which they claimed was easy, i tried it, and did find it easy, do they still advertise this method, and even though it was hemp that they recomended, as it only needed one knot, I suppose spun poly could be used, anyone know?
  11. I supose it all depends on why the person is getting rid,if its someone who has worked them regular, and is, say packing up then why not, Regarding adult ferts, i was out a mooch years ago, walking along a flood banking, when i noticed rabbits bolting, i hung around thinking it was a stoat, when out popped a Polecat Jill fert, i picked her up, she was tame, and turned out to be a cracker. I also bought the odd kit at Lowther, and never had one that didnt work, Interesting Tote mentioning Lanark market, this market has always had a good reputation for picking up good Ferts.
  12. Hob went through okay, altthough Vet quoted me £46, three weeks ago the receptionist said that will be £54, so i told her the price, and she spoke to him, and it went back to £46. he said, he checked how long, before he could be put in with in season Jills, and he said seven weeks.
  13. Im sure your right, i think it was £40.
  14. I bought the new Mark3m and i dont like it, much prefer the old knocking box.
  15. I cant remember but I think it was a decent price, why dont you give him a ring, he is a nice lad to deal with, not a rip off merchant. his phone number 01142851372. they are the real deal well made and work well.
  16. Enjoyed it Tote, you have a useful Dog there, hows the cut, after cleaning it up, was it as bad as it looked?
  17. Mick Dadd sells mark1s reconditioned, and also sells brand new mark1 collars. and is good to deal with.
  18. Her Daughter Whippet X Whippet X Bedlington. both ran silent no yipping.
  19. The vet I used as done loads of this type of op and always suggests leaving them 6-8 weeks before putting them in with the jills. I suppose I could chance it putting him in with the Jill if she is not in season, as iam going on holiday for six days and it would be easier for my step daughter to feed and water them, the way i have this cage set up, then seperate him when i get back?
  20. My Hob is going in on Friday morning, but i dont even know if the vet has done the op before, When i asked he quoted me a price told me not to feed him after 6pm Thursday, the receptionist told me, he will tell me the dos and donts when I pick him up. maybe i should have asked if he has done any, but I think it should be pretty straight forward.
  21. Not decrying this cross, but would a Whippet x Lakeland or Whippet x Border be any better than a bedlington whippet. The conformation of the bedlington compliments it to the Whippet therefore should be a faster Dog. A good Bedlington X Whippet should work cover as good, if not better than the above crosses. And the Bedlington has a reputation for having a good nose.
  22. Thats the problem with buying such goods second hand, especially expensive bits of kit like the mark 3, I was considering buying second hand of here, or ebay, but decided if anything went wrong with the reciever or collar, i would be stuffed, so i purchased new, costs more, but in the long run less hassle if things go wrong, Its different with the old Mark 1 as Deben wont even fix them, which i think is bad crack, But you have at least, Lads like mick Dadd who will fix and service them, I have not heard of anyone bar Deben that will fix the Mark 3. Is there anyone out there?
