  4. we'v had a bad bout of mixi down here in southwest Scotland, dogs are forever bringing back dead and dieing
  5. My advice is to do go back to one thing, sit and stay or what ever and just make sure every time you say it make sure the dog does it. I find you have to be a real d**k and dont let it get away with anything. how do you punish the dog when it does bad? maybe you need to think about stepping it up

  9. The reason we are allowed a FAC is because we are supposed to be judged a responsable person (DID YOU KNOW YOU HIT IT NO,DID YOU KNOW IT WAS WOUNDED NO,DID YOU KILL IT DONT KNOW,WAS IT SUFFERINg DONT CARE ,DID YOU GO LOOK UM MAYBE,)Hardly the actions of a responsable FAC holder (PRAT) there is always one self righteous twat, ready to quote a load of rubbish from the best practise. In my job the longer a fox is on my beat the more harm it will do, I would rather hit it and it go's on rather than miss it cleanly, it wont live long and importantly wont be killing grouse. Here we

  12. There used all over the country like this, especially by the likes of yourself working on moor and upland for vermin like you say stoats/weasels primarily.... Stick a few guide sticks either side to satisfy the tunnel inspection brigade.. if you look closly at the pic you can see there are guide stick on either side
  13. I think there maybe a place in walse that does a course, look up snowdonia taxidermy. if thats for far they may have a contact of someone closer to home. or you could buy a few books i found a few good ones on ebay a few years back.
  14. p.s i have accidentally caught as many wee birds and things in corectly set tunnel traps as i have in rail traps
  15. as a grouse keeper i have load of traps like these up every burn, we put fronts on ower cages and they work better (i think) than the tunnel traps, easyer to check, dont catch loads of rabbits, dont get frozen to the ground or rusted in mud. they are good for catching rats aswell as stoats and weasles. I would consider them a key tool in vermin control on a shoot.
  16. some nice pics and a good read cheers. i'v shot a billy before and the main thing that sticks in my mind is the reak that comes of them, smellys the rancide goats cheese.
  17. Have an address for Bob, who was a great mate (and fine keeper) when at Rossway where I beat and shot for a good few years, but I would need some confirmation that you have a valid reason for seeking him before I gave you the address. call your mate bob and see if he knows this guy
  18. i lost my wallet with £50 in it, it got handed in without the money which was a pain in the arse but better than nothing.
