  1. ive got some black mates and mixed race friends from africa who hunt. or they say they do, just looks like running around and throwing wooden sticks to me
  2. may the best dog win! hopefully no injuries to either dog but lots of bunnies eh?
  3. what do you mean? where are you from Panna? thats an interesting mix of languages.
  4. i think you mean afrikaans hey? south african could be zulu, xhosa, sesotho etc etc
  5. well if you ever want to leave "your island" and broaden your horizons then i think you'll find yourself abit screwed.
  6. i noticed the thread on nationality and it got me thinking. it seems like most people on here are white, english, irish, scottish or welsh and obviously speak english. my question is does anyone else on here speak any other languages? im mostly english/aussie with other bits a while back in my blood. but, i speak afrikaans and can understand spoken dutch and i speak abit of zulu aswell. i saw someone else on heres from south africa, anyone else speak anything other than engish?
  7. im finally back in cornwall after 4 months in oz, i was up at half 4 thanks to different time zones messing my body clock up! to all thoses who think the grass is greener over there i can honestly say its not. its mostly brown i can honestly say id rather be here even though its a little bit illegal to hunt bigger things here. sooo does anyone know of any young dogs or pups not too far from here preferably whippetty types with alot of pace.
  8. out of interest does anybody on here work their dogs in anything other than hunting? i train and work personal protection dogs aswell as hunting but have always been amazed by sheep dogs/cattle working dogs etc and have worked with a few but never owned one. ~ by working dog i mean a dog used for a job not a sport (like schutzhund etc) cheers
  9. good if you like that kinda thing but i just cant understand why you'd want a caterpillar tatooed on you
  10. great thread i love the pictures! looks like you had a brilliant time ratkillah. His Wife; were do you guys live?
  11. wait another couple of months before hunting with him again. if he picks up bad habits like that now it'll be hard to train out.
  12. nice pics, what did you use for these dogs pre ban or a gun?
  13. dont think that amount would fit through mine
  14. I've worked european and aussie doberman, the europeans as simoman said are very sharp and edgy, not what i look for in a protection dog. One of the best I've ever seen was a dingo/GSD we had in at work for a while, very switched on, smart, tough, aggresive, but at the same time very biddable and loyal. The safest bet would be a well bred german shep -simoman I've pm'd you. rotties i find need more persuasion to be loyal and protective. american bulldogs, or the ones i've worked with at least amaze me every time. love em. pit bulls can be trained to a reasonable degree as can staffs and a

  18. Mr Darcy inspired me to do this with my gundog bitch a couple of years ago, but i cant remember how it went!!
