  1. i have been around and trained both, some pits mite not work in a pack some can, it is [bANNED TEXT] you put in to your dog from the very start, as for a gaurd or a PP dog give me a pit bull from the right stock, i have trained both for this and the pit bull shits all over the them, lets face it, no bull terrier is going to be as good a pp dog (consistently) as a purpose bred one - malinois, german shep, etc etc. not to say they can do it well, where i worked in sydney i trained loads of pits for pp and manstopper work and they can be ok or even good occasionally. but not like a purpose

The time has now come to sell my beloved jeep so here's the spec Its is near enough a complete nut and bolt rebuild. 5 x insa turbo special track tyres in very good nic free wheeling hubs 4 parabolic leaf springs on the front and 5 on the back extended shackles to give more ground clearance selectable 4x2, 4x4 high and 4x4 low ratio. the low ratio on this is very low due to the gearing of the 410.   8. hi ive been looking on the internet for a stud retriever to put to my bitch in about 2 years time (provided she keeps it up) and havent really found any suitable. Im after a steady gundog, keen on picking up with good hunting up skills, good drive, a fairly small compact body (avoids too much injury etc). As i said i havnt found anything suitable yet, if anyone knows of a goodun please let me know cheers all

  10. ive been musing over the last couple of days about the way dogs enter water for a retrieve. some people think about how to obtain world peace, i think about dogs. what got me thinking is the fact that one of my two retrievers jumps into the water flat out and hits it hard, the other one will run in but doesnt really like having to jump in from height. why? there hasnt been much difference in their upbringing, if anything maisey (the one who wont jump in) was introduced to water sooner. they both like playing in the water aswell. are there any particular breeds that excell in the water and a
  11. i quit jan 15th but i've had a few, no more than one every couple of days though. its irritating right now because other people i live with smoke so it's always on offer.
  12. ok dumb question, im in full support of docking working dogs' tails when necessary, ive seen an undocked springer with his tail ripped to bits, so i understand that one, but why dock a GWP or even a vizsla? i dont mean to insult or accuse i havnt had much to do with the hpr breeds other than basic training a couple of weimaraners so i just dont know. can someone explain? is it for the same reason? cheers all
  13. Im so jealous I used to really want to be a dog handler for the forces....but was told if i made it i would have to leave my dog at home and couldnt do that so stopped pursuing it..... i dont work for the forces, my dogs come everywhere with me

  16. some pics of the other days rabbit shooting and ferreting trip. end result was 12 rabbits we could of had more but someone needs to brush up on their shooting skills the pup brooke is about 14 months old now, i have just returned from australia so this was her first proper day learning the ropes. she did well, catching the first bolter and showing marking skills and keen retrieving instinct. the pics dont do the dogs justice but there we go. this first pic show my 3 year old bitch with her young protege in the front maisey on the left, brooke on the right maisey marking in
