  1. good bit of sport and your dogs look in great nick - a credit to you.
  2. I had a pup off Ant a few of years ago, dog was everything promised and more. A genuine dogman who doesn't keep shit
  3. you should check the other posts before you get all out of shape mate not getting all out of shape mate, just stating a fact its not my fault your mam has no money and your getting nothing of santa That's a weird comment.. But then, so is "Here we go again boys and girls" .....
  4. My point exactly. If there were such a thing I'm quite sure I would have seen one by now. Facts are fox are a joke compared to real deer. I'd hardly call them little rabbits yall call Roe a dog gone deer. I'm not sure what ya getting at here dan. A US deer dog is obviously gonna be different to a UK deer dog, just as US and UK running dogs are different, and as has already been mentioned a UK deer dog comes in a few different flavours. A dog consistently grassing daytime roe with style is in my book a deer dog, or more accurately a good roe dog. A dog dropping 200lb fallow bucks sing
  5. good luck for the season mate keep us posted on them
  6. how do they compare mate? like, which is the fastest ?
  7. Good to see D, dogs are looking well mate
  8. put your giant tar brush away, some are on the level X bred granted, but neither of his parents were anything to look at, just good honest working dogs bred best to best
  9. I rememer my old man talking about that a few years ago... can't see it happening nowadays
  10. Thanks lads, Wonga's pitty/bull arab x And I know how much some on this site like that sort of thing, I couldn't ignore them
  11. It's been a while since I've had the time to post on here so I thought I'd put up some pics of a few hunting trips last year. This boar weighed in at 84kg's dressed, so I guess he would've been around the ton mark live weight - and he fought with every last kilo. My dog Wonga found this fella on the bank of a muddy creek, latched onto his ear and got dragged about a hundred yards before we decided this might be a two-dog pig and sent Sid the bully/cattle dog into the fray. Even with two strong dogs on him this boar was bucking and fighting for all he was worth, and managed to drag the dog
  12. there are still a few blokes work their staffords mate the main thing is just to get out with your dog. give it a go and enjoy
  13. i think the original question was about staffords, not pits... lets keep on track here fella's.
  14. Potshot do you have any pictures of your dogs working?
  15. its important to get her stock broken as soon possible mate, one inccident could spell the end of your permission as far as rabbitting is concerned its good that she's picking up the scent, now you just need to find some cover that holds and let her bush them out
  16. one of the few i know who really works his goldens lives just by me, like you said the eval lines' breeder has slowed right down (from what i hear) i know of the williams dogs, my point is that the majority of gundogs i see on shoots or being worked are labs and spaniels. i would love to see more goldens in the field being worked hard also, of the few i've seen there's even less that i would want a pup off - most are too stocky and slow for my liking... still good working dogs but not my type.
  17. it was about you saying you wont get a gamer dog than a staffy the stafford as a breed is f****d now compared to the dogs of old yes you will get the odd few that will work but very few and far between they're still around, owned and worked by a dedicated few
  18. i said 'as far as i can see'... and in the south west - cornwall in particular there are not many. very few in fact compared to the amount of labs i cant talk about any sort of resurgence in the breed as i havent been into it for 25 years. potshot do you have any pictures of your dogs?
  19. i agree with you samstorm, but there are generally better dogs at most forms of hunting. None gamer though
