    Seems to me that some folks on here dont like the truth of other peoples experiences with the deerhoundx. Sounds to me like hot meat has had a bad time with them. Then when he openly admits it..he gets slated for it. If the truth is known then the deerhoundx seems to throw the most failures/not meeting expectations across the running dog spectrum. I'll gladly admit that this is the case in my experience with said x..atb NMF

    Seen plenty run over the years(from the mid 80's)..not 1 could cut the mustard when the going got really tough(high numbers weekly) some would have put michael jackson to shame with the moon walking around toothed quarry lol. Nice to look at..nice in full flow..shame they aint as nice at the business end tbh because by sheer size alone should equate to an awesome killer. Sadly this isnt the case. Edible game dogs with the occasional toothed quarry thrown in would be an apt description of a decent deerhound x nowadays...unless diluted with bull blood to up the tenacity. just my experience with

    Is it always?, nature or nurture is the question? I would say a good bit of both the odd one or 2 i seen yapping were the fault of the owner ..pure and simple..entered on testing quarry way too early so born out of frustration...granted there are lines of yappers out there and folk buy them. who says a dog should be silent ? too much read into the old style poaching scenario where a noisy dog would have got you jail or worse. the ones i seen yapping were probably amongst the best foxing dogs around at the time and earned their keep. put it this way...which would you rather own..a dog that c

    yapping behind quarry is born out of frustration or exitement imo...to say a dog is no good just because it yaps is a bit silly..one mans meat is another mans poison imo..i'd sooner have a yapper that caught regular than a silent dog that couldnt catch game in a phone box

    One of the best fox catching/killing bitches i ever seen was a yapper.....she was ran on hares too early which sickened her so she started to open up...rabbits yapped like fcuk aswell as hares..only yapped the first 20yards or so on a fox then all systems go.. i reckon if your willing to put up with it then thats your choice..the bitch in question i would have owned in a breath had she been offered to me purely because she was just so good at the foxing game.

    Alot of folk make the mistake of thinking they are foxes at the end of the beam..they are very adept at keepin hidden and most wouldnt know they are there...if it wasnt for the horrible bark they give off as a warning in woodland then most folk would swear blind that there are none in the area...nice to munch on though
