  1. If it was a dog, whichever breed would be banned or come under some kind of media shit storm Although because it is a horse, it will be dealt with rationally as a freak accident/event that it was. Why would you let an 18-month child that close to a horse in a paddock though? Don't trust horses, that's my message
  2. Habitiat loss is always number one. Any predator only feeding on birds like sparrowhawks can't possibly be the culprit or they wouldn't have any food would they. The only solution is to preserve more areas or countryside, there isn't enough wild grassland for things like barn owls etc and woodland/wetland is rare. I am in my early 20's and even I have noticed a huge drop in songbirds. I remember seeing huge flocks of starlings all the time, where have they gone? Sparrows? It's a great shame. It isn't realistic to expect people to stop having cats, and there are too many squirrels and corvids t
  3. never tried goat but I don't doubt it's very tasty. The most exotic meat I would recommend to anyone is ostrich. It tastes lovely, and if you get a steak it is very tender and worked out quite a lot less than beef. Also very low fat, high protein etc but not sure how it compares to goat.
  4. So far, can't be trusted is winning. I have never spoken to a horse owner who doesn't know someone who has been kicked, or have seriously been hurt in some way. It just seems an inevitability that if you are around horses, you will get hurt. Imagine if everyones dogs bit them every now and again, or randomly went schizo on walks?
  5. I didn't say horses were girly, but the fact is it is very female dominated. Can it really be sexual when tiny girls want ponies and little boys want a motorbike? Please dont argue about the ira. The question is who exactly thinks they can control a scared horse, which has been said is a tonne of muscle and hoofs, that can walk past a lamp post every day for years until one day it terrifies it beyond what its small brain can cope with. They sense my hate and fear, and hate me back.
  6. This is correct, as with most finger print recognition stuff the finger print stays on the phone/device and what will be transmitted is a hashed (like encrypted) code which is either associated with your finger print (on the phone) or a hashed code generated from coordinates from key areas of your finger print. Either way it cannot be turned back into a finger print when it gets to where it is being sent. really , it just seems the police can request anything these days, Google gets hundreds of thousands of requests a year and sites like facebook probably have a contract with them by n
  7. Pretty self explanatory, do you trust horses? The third choice is for the pedantic people who don't trust anything 100%, but trust horses as much as a dog for example. On a side note, why is it girls and gay men who make up the vast majority of horse riders? Why are young girls allowed to ride them on public roads when they could never keep them remotely under control?
  8. I think you back it up with a password too, so it is completely pointless in that respect. But I like the idea of not having to type a pin number to unlock the screen every time. I don't mean to show off, I need it for a new job and the truth is I f*****g hate phones. I only got this because I can't stand I-phones. I hate phone companies too, and Orlando Bloom.
  9. I just bought a motorola atrix, and it has fingerprint recognition. Is it paranoid to think that once they have your fingerprint it could be stored...or potentially stored somewhere the police could request to see? I am not guilty of anything, but I just don't like the idea of my private info being available.
  10. i think they can,and do,i have come across two litters over the years ,they were both late [oct]and both in the Grantham area.About 10 years ago i lost a doe ferret in a large open field set near Boston,i can only assume her collar packed upand she was stuck, although a local farm worker looked out for her for over a week, we had to give her up for lost, six months later, the ferret was caught in a cage trap on a fenland smallholding, a mile away from where it was lost. I found a hob ferret in the grantham area. Skinny as hell when I found him. I personally dont think he would have surviv
  11. Is it possible to tame a wild polecat? wouldn't recommend it, ferrets have been domesticated for thousands of years and can still be grumpy buggers. I did briefly own a 50/50 ferret/polecat I bought at Melton Mowbray auction (or that's what the seller told me after I bought it), I don't really know how to describe it. It was very dark, quite shy and bloody unpredictable. I have kept many ferrets for a long time and never knew what a proper ferret bite was until it latched on. It was unbelievable, but I persevered a long time with him and he stopped biting, but was complete shit at worki
  12. I don't know how you would prove if they are breeding without finding a nest of babies. But I had a wild ferret a mate found wandering about, and a hunch said she been wild a long time. But they are domestic animals so they don't go fully 'wild', so she became very tame and was the best worker I have ever had. I have seen two lost or wild ferrets, an albinio and a big polecat hob which I think is more likely a ferret than a polecat. Both in Notts.
  13. Electric fences have made me a look a fool a few times. I was carrying all my gear and stepped half way over a fence I was sure was off, obviously it wasn't and I got 3 jolts straight to the bollocks before I managed to move. Didn't drop anything though!
  14. Kyle....with all due respect can you not see the naivety in what you are saying.....the likes of Ghandi and Muhammed Ali were world figures NOT normal human beings the same as me and you,Ali was the most famous athlete in the history of sport !!....Muhammed Ali saying what he has to say in front of a worldwide media is somewhat different to me,Bill,Bob and Dave saying what we have to say to our local mp in a typed letter !! As for not worrying about being pc,they didnt have to....but these are different times mate,in todays times Ali would have been arrested and imprisoned for promoting ra
  15. I think 'moaning' together with people who believe the same is probably the best way for a change to happen. Perhaps not on a forum granted, but would you be suggesting we all stay silent, then through some kind of telepathic understanding unite in the streets? We are english, proud to be civilised and not need to resort to violence. English culture encourages peaceful debate and protest, freedom of speech is a right and that's part of why people love it here. So WHY should anyone tolerate a minority of disgusting, hate filled, uncivilised, ignorant, violent, homophobic, sexist, brain washed a
  16. I think the majority of people are moaning BECAUSE they love this country, and are upset that the people who are born here are often treated like second class citizens. Can you honestly not see the irony in telling people who are proud to be english to piss off if they don't like a c**t islamic extremists shouting about how much THEY hate us, in a country WE love? Can you not see why people get annoyed, and potentially don't trust their local MP because they are the exact people bending over in the first place? Yes we can go and protest against it, and end up in prison so we can watch muslims
  17. if killing gadaffi ended the conflict then perhaps that would save money. But the problem is keeping the support of the backward Arabic world. They can't handle a leader being taken out because their whole society seems to be very submissive to anything in power, which is easy once they have submitted to a deity. But anyway, it would probably cost us more in oil and trade if we got the Arabs backs up, so I would imagine far more knowledgeable people have given this a lot more thought and have come to the decision they have for our own selfish interests. We aren't as good as we would try and co
  18. Does anyone have a story of making a prat of yourself? People can have a bit too much pride, and reading through some threads you get the impression some people never make a mistake. But any story of where being a bit naive has backfired or it was just bad luck will do. When I was a bit younger me and a couple of friends would be out at every opportunity, so we decided to try ferreting at night time. It became apparent this was a bad idea when the ferrets went down and dozens of rats came pouring out like water. I have never danced around like more of an idiot in my life, we both had several
  19. my mrs keeps the most useless ferret as a pet you can imagine, it won't even eat meat ffs. I got it handed to me at work because they worked I kept ferrets and wasn't going to keep it. But it's perfectly happy and healthy, gets handled etc so what's the problem? It just gets left behind.
  20. How tall is the man? I did a quick search and it seems very hyped up and I didn't read anything that sounded scientific, so I am skeptical still that this is truly genuine.
  21. what the hell is a 'micra pig?'. Apparently 'micro pigs' were popular a while ago without me noticing, and now I keep hearing about them. Is there even such thing as a 'micro' pig? Not just a piglet that will grow in to a normal pig?
  22. I have heard of this happening a couple of times. The first guy got a mate to look after his dog for 6 months and claimed he had had it put down. I think he just acted the part and they bought the story, and even if they don't believe you how could they expect paperwork? The second time was actually with a wolf, but that time he just used some old paperwork and forged it I think. I really don't think anyone puts the time in to checking the graves of every dog in the country. But its difficult to get the dog back if your neighbours recognise it and might grass, so you might have to move house.
  23. Was going to leave this but after a few comments I feel I have to. Here's my main point: If you are complaining you 'may' have to work until 70, my generation is guaranteed to be working at least that long, without a pension and without the luxury of owning our own houses. I have not got any experience with the miners strikes, but point taken it did sound worse. Also, yes our grandparents had a lower quality of life etc but only in comparison to now, the point being you don't miss what you don't have. My first comment does read a bit arrogant, but I think I do have a valid point if you loo
  24. Very good... Do you realise how daft it sounds moaning about having to pay more for the cost of living these days when the wages have more than gone up in proportion to make up for it? Despite the current economic situation, the general public's quality of life is much better now than it was when I was growing up... I don't know how you can say that anybody who can remember living through the bad times of the ''s has 'had it very easy indeed.' I think its a fair bet ratreeper kisses Maggies picture every night Malt Wonder what contribution to society he makes? Here'
