  1. buggered if i know, i am just trying to get the smallest shred of common sense out of it. As far as i can tell they seem to have the idea that banning a breed some how prevents bad owners. But why the dogo argentino, whats it ever done to get their crosshairs on it?
  2. I have been looking for years on and off, as anyone who might remember me posting when there was a bull breed section. I am sick of all the bullshit breeders trying to make a quick few quid off dogs. They have no pride, no respect, and no common sense. 'presaXpitbull will make good guard dog £200' etc Anyway before i rant (bloody frustrating as many of you might know), i am interested in peoples opinions on who breeds as close to the true presa as possible in the UK. Someone who breeds for temperament, working ability, and physically sound dogs (and not size or 'show dogs'). Dogs that h
  3. Well, as the threads called, whys the dogo argentino on the dangerous dogs act? or i should say, why is the dogo, but not others
  4. I'd love to be a dog rehabilitator, bit like cesar milan but without saying 'energy' but i will need to get a mexican accent...could take time
  5. I like the look of storm, when do you think you would consider a litter i would be very interested to see how the pups come out. If you are crossing with a good whippet/grey i might have to put my name down for a pup if i can. Don't worry about any hi-jacking this is all interesting stuff to read.
  6. thanks, and not boring at all. Again, can't wait to see the pics. I reckon I know what i am looking for now, but i am going to base the decision of the dog itself on working ability of the genes etc so the % of whats in it might change. As long as its, small, quick, clever, fun then i think i will be happy to give it a home for its lifetime.
  7. Can't wait for the pics, thanks. Do you think that this cross with a bit of grey and less kelpie would be a bit quicker, potentially a bit of an easier dog to work
  8. Apart from the obvious advantage of a bit more height, adding greyhound seem's to produce steadier tempraments without affecting the dogs desire to catch,im not saying all beddy/whippets are headstrong but ive seen a few you would swear were totally deaf,i stopped lamping with one mate because if his bed/whip missed a rabbit he would run the rest to ground clearing the next field, and its not the only one ive seen do this, just my personal view on what ive seen. cheers for that, i have to admit thats why i was originally thinking collie/grey or kelpie/whippet because i can't stand ignorant
  9. cheers for all the replies First off, do people agree i am making the right choice, just for rabbit and a bit of ratting but with the speed to take rabbit in the open with a fair coarse ie ferreting companion. Why do you think adding grey makes it more 'versatile'? Versatile for preban, or for terrain, speed etc? This is why its taken so bloody long to narrow it down, too much choice and too many seemingly sound arguments and opinions
  10. After a huge amount of thought i think the best dog for me is a a beddy/whippet. I was thinking about a kelpie/whippet etc but i am not sure anymore. But my question is why is the bedlington so popular? Why not a german hunt terrier/whippet etc. Might be a daft question to those that already know, its just i haven't heard of many other crosses, just purely beddy. ps what i want is a quick, agile little dog for rabbiting day and night, not scared of the odd rat either. Also needs to be a great companion with a bit less energy than a kelpie. Don't get me wrong it will get a huge amount of e
  11. I might be a complete cretin, but i just made a threa in this section called britain is changing now its gone...?
  12. you can make a cracking casserole or hot pot, just slap it in before work and its ready when you get back
  13. i just read about it, what a f*****g joke. Soon everyone will have had enough of their shit and it will get nasty. Wankers think they own the world.
  14. same thing mate, there are a few threads already about this cross, mixed reviews so far i would say. Stick top what has proven itself in the field imho
  15. theres a lot of dicking around for what they are, very fiddly job cleaning them and deboning. It leaves you with very little meat int he end, but it was good stuff. I marinaded and fried them in thai spices with a few extra things added to up the heat, then roasted them in foil while i made some fried bread. Very good nosh indeed but not worth the effort considering other game.
  16. the meat itself is excellent, seems a waste to make it into sausages and they come out a bit gritty. I still loved them though, and i say the same about venison despite loving venison sausages aswell
  17. he is the leader of the pack, the leader eats first or gets a whip. Pretty simple, but impressive when theres so many dogs at a time
  18. how would you chaps rate quail compared to other game? i have never had it because its not free but a couple have been acquired for dinner. Should i just cook them like a partridge and hope for the best?
  19. definitely a pain in the ass, but like bitsa says definitely good for lamping
  20. just thought i would add two more points to the discussion. If you trully believe in God, you would NEVER sin. You would be a monk, dedicating your life to God to ensure your passage to heaven. As most self-acclaimed christians sin and don't repent etc...i am assuming belief in the afterlife is just a security blanket. secondly why do you keep insisting that children are not taught about creationism in schools?? I got taught evolution and fact in science classes, and about religion in R.E. You are insufferably bias demanding creationism be taught in its place, or next to it as fact. Wh
  21. i think he did a good job, taught people some important things. He is trying to run a business now, why have a pop at him because he is making a success of it? He will probably get about 50p a book sold so its hardly lining his pockets.
  22. You can't honestly say that because science isn't advanced enough yet to answer a few questions that the whole of scientific theory is invalid. I could write essays on the contradictions and blatantly bizarre things written in the bible. People who blindly follow others and refuse to open their minds and attempt to fully understand other peoples beliefs are in general not the sort of people i could get along with. I use the word iditiot in replace of ignorant. Muslims blow us up because they think their god wants them too. I was nearly expelled from school because i refused to pray during asse
  23. oh and to use the only argument creationists have against you, prove evolution doesn't exist and you can have £1000 and stone me to death if you want
