  1. Personally I used to love my. 22/250 only reason I stopped using it was because I got my .243 T3 which is moderated . The .22/250 is extremely hard hitting and I never lost a fox or roe with it. I think it drops roe better than my .243 I should give it an airing and bring back some memories of how loud it is ??
  2. I'm always out as you know but was hoping for a better day , never mind see what I can find the rest of the week ?
  3. Well sad to say my goose trip wasnt a success as the geese didn't want to play ? 1st skein came in perfect and I shot 1 pink foot. After that plenty geese in the air but wouldn't decoy and decided to land in some fields half a mile away. 5 hours driving for a goose I must be mad ?
  4. Nice to see you've got that nice avatar back ?
  5. I know what you mean but I spotted it at around 300yds away. I was hunting a bit of the farm I never touch and didnt know the lay of the land. Where I spotted it there was a fence and gorse in front of me so had to detour round this to the gate , climb the gate and go down a gully and up the other side which brought me to 150 yds away , couldn't get any closer as there was another bracken covered gully between me and the fox so decided to shoot from there as the fox was on the move and I may have lost it in the cover , so I stopped it and sent my round ? He was very fat and also had a black be
  6. The sticks are Mjoelner, not the sturdiest compared to more expensive ones , but at £100 they do the job.
  7. Have to mate. Had a look out lamping even though full moon , cloud cover helped. Managed to sneak up on this fat dog fox , took him at around 150 yds ? Keeper has been on the phone and he's found the geese so going in the morning , hopefully they co-operate.
  8. Well seeing as my goose trip was cancelled and I have the week off I have just been out in search of roe. Dropped on a doe with twins and managed to grass the twins ???. Just waiting for darkness to descend and off after reynard ?
  9. Go on , blast his Reeves pheasant ? Next time I speak to him I will ask him about Midnight Express ????
  10. Great stuff on the crows ? Geese cancelled for tomorrow as they have disappeared ?
  11. Well I had a look out too last night and called in this nice vixen after 12 mins , hare call came in great and stopped 20 yds off the caller. Only 1 I saw but a better specimen that the one Mr Sausage got .
  12. No mate , it's the only 1 I saw. They usually come in with the November moon . Good luck tonight think I will have a look myself.
  13. Out this morning with Bert in search of the wily old pheasant, a truly wild bird unlike its dopey released cousins. These birds are unreal spotting you from hundreds of yards away and off in a crack. Not much about this morning but managed my first woodcock of the season which Bert flushed from a hedgerow ? Then he stopped by a bramble patch , stood on his back legs and scented the air , I knew this meant a pheasant so urged him on and in he went and flushed a cracking cock bird ?
  14. Keeper messaged this morning saying geese have moved on ?on the look out for them so plans may need to change.
  15. You look well chilled. I am off work now for 9 days so expect to be knackered as will try and cram in as much shooting as possible. Off to Scotland on Monday , got a date with 1000 pinks , really looking forward to it ?
  16. The cheapest is your hand .....its free ?
  17. Me too , I find the lamp a lot quicker for spotting and getting onto the fox quicker than faffing about spotting through a thermal and then having to find it again with nv. The 2 I shot on Saturday night didnt mind the lamp ?
  18. In my opinion it's the best eating venison ?
  19. Glad your 1st day went well Stav ? I had a great weekend even though it was very blustery. Arrived at 10am Saturday morning and was straight out. Pulled into the farm and I spotted a Cwd in the 1st field couched up but my mate decided to leave it as in view of the nursery on the farm and thought it best to not upset any young eyes. Anyway , next field and another Cwd is trotting down the field towards me , I dropped on the bipod and the deer obligingly stopped at around 100yds and was quickly dispatched ?. We then walked for hours but saw nothing as the strong wind kept them tuck
  20. Well done Mr Sausage ?I'm hoping to get 1 or 2 tomorrow night ?
  21. Hopefully not , those CWD arent the most difficult to grass ?
