It was 0c here last night with a frost. I had a look on a spot and saw no foxes only 11 roe. More roe locally than foxes.

Foxes Out with my mate last night on some new ground . As we pulled onto the farm a fox crossed in front of us , so out with the rifle and no 1 in the bag . We then got set up overlooking a rushy area out in front where I could see for miles. On with the caller and it wasn't long before a fox was coming in. They just kept coming, it was like a delivery service. Cant remember exactly how many we saw , I think possibly 8 . 5 were shot from this 1 stand All big healthy foxes 4 dogs 2 vixens with one of the vixens being the biggest Farmer was over the moon and b

I remember when I was in my twenties, used to go beating with the terriers but unfortunately they would go to ground sometimes and we would just have to let the rest carry on while we got the terrier back My mates Patterdale bitch was very fast and often caught rabbits on top but on one particular day in September we were beating the stubbles for partridge, a hare lifted and she coursed it all over the field before catching it this was with an audience of beaters and guns. -
