  1. Just back in from a wander round our shoot , haven't been up since lockdown. Saw a few bunnies and a barn owl which is always nice to see.
  2. Yesterday evening saw me and my mate having a look about his small game shoot for a buck. It was a nice evening and I was full of optimism. We stalked to the far end of the ground and spotted a mature buck but he was on his travels and disappeared as quick as he appeared. I glassed back behind us and couldn't believe a buck was out feeding where we had just been. A plan was hatched that involved stalking down the back of a shelter belt to get in position but when we got there he had vanished. Ever the optimist we continued back to our favourite lying out spot watching a wood edge where the roe
  3. Bloody terrible , I would chop their hands off , no time for scum .
  4. 4.30 this morning thought I would look for a buck , saw nothing except vixen and Cubs on neighbouring ground. Did manage to get a glimpse of a lapwing chick...
  5. More shooting for me as had the bad news today of being made redundant.
  6. Better the youngster be out in the fields than sat in front of the x box ?
  7. Just been out for a wander with my mate and his 7yr old on the rabbits again. Quite a bit crop damage so will have to keep hitting it.
  8. Yep wild garlic smells great. You started on the roe bucks yet ?
  9. I wouldn't worry about it either , seen them run loads of times even with a perfect shot.
  10. Had to make a start on the bucks too .
  11. Then other evening my mate called to shoot some bunnies local, didn't expect much but saw around 70 -80 shooting 14 .
  12. It's great to be able to get back out. Had a call last week to shoot some blacks...
  13. There are 2 camps regarding cleaning , 1st clean after every use 2nd dont clean at all. I never clean my rifles , never have done and dont have a problem. The very rare time I have cleaned is if I have had to re zero , which again very rare.
  14. I have had my FAC for 30 plus years and it was OPEN from day 1 , this is Durham force, not sure if they do this now though, probably not.
  15. Well done that looks great ,you have a talent that's for sure ?
  16. I think urban foxes are more readily caught in cage traps compared to their cleverer country cousins. The only foxes I have seen cage trapped were Cubs, who also like getting caught in Larsens.
  17. Like to see him do that in the UK ??
  18. I remember getting a call out during the foot and mouth outbreak asking if I could come as the farmer had lost 30 lambs in a week. Anyway after a week of being out morning and night I eventually caught up with the culprit, turned out it was the smallest scrawny little vixen you had ever seen , you wouldn't have thought she was capable of such destruction.
