  1. Rain , drizzle and fog bloody Summer. Out this morning at 7am for a couple of hours to keep corvids off a fresh sown game strip. Not much about but managed a few ?
  2. Just nipped up the shoot for a couple of hours to see if we could catch any roach in the quarry. Unfortunately the fish weren't biting but I managed to catch a frog. Mates little lad was fascinated...
  3. Dont forget your goggles ,gloves and boots. Hope you've done a lone worker risk assessment too and have the guardian app ??????
  4. When you get Slinky2 I would be hanging it on the fence just to let him know you got it
  5. I had a couple of hours , just to get out of the house and get some fresh air after raining all week. Very dull and murky but dry. Not many rabbits about compared to usual but still nice to be out and get a few shots.....
  6. I've seen a few foxes missed at under10 yds on game shoots where the gun gets too excited.
  7. My pup is doing great on it. Selling stalking now , new career ?
  8. I've been stripping the carcasses and using for dog food mate , at least you can still shoot a few and keep the dogs fed with good meat. You will be overrun with them before long mate which will only attract the undesirables. I can always pop down in the rut and clear a few up seeing as I have no job ??
  9. Well done , just need to get Slinky 2 now...
  10. Well done on 1st of season. Are the quads mjoelner?
  11. This is the problem though not much restraint out there ?
  12. I wait with baited breath for the next instalment.
  13. Never seen does head butting each other, just chasing and obviously bucks fighting.
  14. Still decided not for me as in my experience did a spell of around 7 years with a guy with thermal and nv and the foxes were literally wiped out , now suffering the consequences of doing a thorough job with literally very few foxes left , I know the case is the same in Wales with the once abundant fox population taking a hammering in some areas. I have nothing against it just not for me as I find it takes no field craft apart from getting the wind right , spot fox shoot fox basically. As said previously if it was my job that changes things but as I'm recreational I want to preserve some sport
  15. Mine are given away or used as dog food at present.
  16. Just been out stalking this evening with my mate , I was glassing and he was on the rifle. Chilly north wind but better than sitting in the house. First 2 roe spotted were a buck and doe racing across the field having been disturbed by dog walkers. So we stalked along to the far end of the ground and was greeted by 2 does chasing each other hard. We decided to stalk along the wood edge which was sheltered from the wind. I quickly spotted another 2 deer chasing , this time 2 bucks ? My mate got ready on his sticks and when they stopped , shot the bigger of the 2 bucks , he only ran 10 yards an
  17. Not going down that route as dont want to wipe everything out , always ensuring future sport. No foxes left up here due to thermal and nv wiping everything out. I know it has advantages but still do ok without it. This is my hobby would be different if it was my job ?
  18. .22lr . This was only after 2 hours skirting 2 fields. Problem was after a shot , the thump would clear the rest of the rabbits from the field as it's very open. I will keep chipping away at them and have a look on lamp once the moons off.
  19. Had a look out tonight to a farm that has a few rabbits. Well I was surprised there was loads munching on a new crop. So its war on them now taking no prisoners , they must go as the farmer hates them.
  20. I know the seasons just wondering if he took them when in season.
