    Is your vet talking about Morphine or something? Rimadyl or Metacam aren't that powerful that a dog is going to be unaware. But they will be more comfortable and reduced swelling will increase blood flow and speed up wound healing. I wouldn't use it to get a lurcher back galloping sooner, but for terriers there's big benefits.

    I know in the last 20 years I've starting using Avalache locators instead of the grey deben boxes, the sharptooth fork is a very handy tool. I'm also using anti inflammatories and pain killers like Rimadyl now, where as 20 years ago I didn't. Reading your post you give the impression you haven't progressed in 20 years. I don't believe you

    I like a laid back slob of a terrier, that lives for little but work and when it crawls into the darkness you've total confidence of getting a result without having to rush. Nose, brains, durability you shake your head at. And that self clips itself for shows. Although I can live without that.
