  1. Depends on your scope's front bell pal. What size scope you mounting? Rule of thumb i go by, 40mm- low 44mm- med 50 and 56- high. Edited to say, this is on an un-shrouded barrel. HTH Mikey.
  2. In my .177 R10. Webley Mossies group unbelievably well out to 50yds. In my .177 Daystate MK3. JSB Express, same pellets as Mossies just in a different tin! Mikey.
  3. The caliber debate will be around for as long as air-rifles themselves. It's all about personal preference and the conditions you shoot. My personal preference is to run light-ish pellets at high fps, around 815fps (11.6ft/lb). I find I get a very flat trajectory, never needing more than 1 mil dot hold over past my zero range (45yds), and very little windage to account for. Mikey.
  4. Looks nice Shay, Best of luck and let us know how you get on lads! Mikey.
  5. Another vote here for the Viper! Use one for hunting, and HFT. Does everything you could ask for a sub 12ft/lb rifle. Plus the SCB reticule is excellent Mikey.
  6. Hi Davy, Looks like a top night! Great [bANNED TEXT] up. Fantastic shooting to all involved Mikey.
  7. Great post mate SP, from me. Really is no substitute for bagging your tea! Seems to taste that much better. Regards, Mikey.
  8. Hi Karpman, As mentioned Kibworth may be your closest UKAHFT club. There is Daystate Midlands HFT Series round being held there this Sunday. I will be competing so if you fancy it drop me a PM. I would imagine Anston is also one of the closest to you Jct29 M1 I think. Regards, Mikey.
  9. Well done Ste sounds like some top shooting there pal and to all who were there. Looked a great day out spent in great company. Mikey.
  10. Here you are mate, have a look at this. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ACC410-1-2-UNF-SILENCER-ADAPTER-16MM-BARRELS-THEOBEN-/170551802706?pt=UK_SportingGoods_Hunting_ShootingSports_ET&hash=item27b5adfb52 Got one of these for my BSA, works a treat. HTH Mikey.
  11. Great write up and pics as always Millsy Top bloke for sharing your permission, I reckon you pair will be getting some decent bags in the next few months. Roll on spring and the tasty 3/4 grown bunnys!! Mikey.
  12. Hi Lads, Just a quick thought. If all seems well with mounts, turrets etc. , check the barrel is not loose. I had this problem on my old S410K, couldnt get it to hold zero or feck all, changed scopes, same result. The barrel grub screws had come slightly loose, nipped em up, problem solved! Best of luck. Mikey.
  13. Hi Lads, Looks like you had an enjoyable night regardless of the blustery conditions, top effort!! Regarding the hold over/under. My preference is to zero at 25yds in .177. This way I never have to hold under, as the pellet is at the peak of its trajectory on the crosshairs at 25 yds. Regards, Mikey.
  14. Good luck lads, lookin forward to write up and pics Mikey.
  15. Nice 'fanny pack' Bill! Good shooting pal, looks like you had a nice mooch about! Kind Regards, Mikey.
  16. Nice read Si, keep at em mate ! Mikey
  17. Nice shooting and nice rifle pal Mikey.
  18. To be honest my R10 is pretty much perfect for me. Great in the field taking vermin off the bipod out to 50yds. Regulated, high shot count and lush stock. Im also well into HFT and compete with the thousand pound plus Steyrs, Walther and Daystates etc. The last comp I shot, the R10 took 52 ex 60 with the top score being 57! That being said I have my eye on a Daystate MK3, now the MK4 is out these are going for bargains! Kind Regards, Mikey.
  19. Yes mate, and very effectively to. As the rifle is near your ear when you fire It can seem as though it sounds like a cannon going off! Rest assured with a decent silencer fitted, your target down range should only hear the pellet slamming into the killzone Mikey.
  20. Hi Lads, Cheers Ste, yep a productive little outing. Best of luck with the permission pal. Hi Bill, lol as I was typing the write up I wrote bum-bag and then thought 'I'd best delete that, dont want a load of ribbing'!! Top field bag though, perfect for fitting anything you need for an outing!! Hi Fry, I love the stock mate it fits like a glove! One of the many great things about the R10 Mikey.
  21. Cheers lads, was nice to get out and keep the farmer happy. Think I have my work cut out as there are a fair few ferals to clear! Mikey.
  22. Afternoon Lads, After a few long, stressfull days at work I needed to wind down and chill. So after finishing I arrived home, picked up the R10 and my hunting bag, and was straight back out the door headed for my newest permission. I arrived, kitted up and was ready to see what was what. First up, check zero The way I do it is I have some small brightly coloured stickers I brought from Rymans, stick them on a post, and fire from my chosen zero distance. I always keep a sheet of them in my bag. Good news, smack on zero. I stalked through the fields hoping to pick up a bu
