Lovely rifle mate! Its an Air Ranger with bits and bobs added etc. Not worth the £1700 price tag though! Mikey.

Hi Garrick, I used to have a Rapid MKII, that had been fettled by JB, and wow what a rifle! The most consistant air rifle I have come accross. I, like Zini have a R10, tench tuned. Its made a good rifle a fantastic bit of kit. Both men are in my eyes, are excellent craftsmen. Mikey. Edited to say, het some pics up when you get it back so I can perv at it!!

Sound mate, got a Hawke scope myself, good scopes for the money. Mikey.
-
Depends, If your budget was £300 for a full set up, I would go for a quality secondhand springer. For your budget you could get a TX200HC in mint condition, with a scope, and still have change for a load of pellets. Mikey.
-
Nice pics, and write up fry, Which Hawke scope is that> Is it the one with the Half Mil-dot ret? Regards, Mikey.

Hi Webby, As far as I know the JSB's are the same as the FX and Air Arms. The JSB Express 7.9gn I use are the same as Webley Mosquitos, just cheeper Mikey.
-
My old TX200HC used to love AA Fields also, either the 4.51's or 4.52's. Thing to note, many of the top pellets, are made in the same factory, same dies, and same machines. So they are the same pellets just in different tins and different prices. The JSB factory in the Czech Rep. also manufactures for FX, AA, Webley etc. Mikey.

Great post that PaulK Cracking shot and a lovely wee dog there to! Mikey

Ive been toying with the idea of getting a cheapish .25 springer for some ratting and around the farm yard. As Im not experianced with this loopier trajectory my limit would be 25yrds to start Mikey.

Hi Mate, Used to use them in .177. They were great. Grouped very well, flew fast and flat. Ditched them in favour of JSB Exact Express 7.9gn, as they seemed to suit my barrel better at the longer ranges. Best bet is to try a tin and see how you get on. Kind Regards, Mikey. Edited to say, Just had a root around and found a few, PM me if you want me to post them through to try, save you buying a tin

Best of luck with the business, looks top notch work. Only downside I can see is putting my rifle down, and not being able to find it again Kind Regards, Mikey.

Seconded, I dropped Pianoman a PM with a problem in my technique. The advice I received was superb, detailed and sorted me right out A true gentleman. Mikey.

The best air rifle scope you ever had????
mikeyblue replied to markha's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Hi Lads, For me its the MTC range of scopes. The SCB reticule was specifically designe for the air rifle trajectory. It offers a 1/2,3/4 and a whole mildot aiming points that sees my combo spot on out to 45yds. The lines also offer windage guides, each line representing a 10mph crosswind. I have the fixed 10x44mm Viper. MTC offer loads of freebies such as side wheel, sunshade, flip ups and mounts. For the money its a lot of scope with decent optics. Im also a big fan of the Hawke SR6/12 Rets. Similar to the SCB and can be used to great effect with Chairgun! Kind Regards, M -
Webley Raider 10 info and review wanted
mikeyblue replied to zini's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Hi Si, A lad I sometimes shoot HFT with had a Raider. I only had a few shots with it and found it ok, but I believe there are better rifles out there in that price range. The same bloke now has an S200 in .177, with a 10shot mag, retro fit. The accuracy of it rivals my R10 and Daystate MK3 no problems! There is also the chance to get the S200 Tench Regged at a later date I really am a massive fan of these rifles. Superbly accurate, suit a ladies smaller frame, and ambidextrous to boot. Just my two penneth pal. Kind Regards, Mikey. -
Well done on the new permissions pal! Look forward to pics and write up Mikey.

Relum Tornado, absolute dog of a rifle, but I love em!!! Many fond memories of stalking through reeds on the moors as a lad, to get within the 20yds required for a humane kill! About three and a half tonnes in weight, and recoil like a Barret .50cal Mikey.
-
Know what your saying Sambo. I think it was the earlier ones that had the problems, but they seem well sorted now. Mikey.
-
Hi Sam, I currently own a R10 (tweaked by Tench) and used to own a Rapid MKII (Tweaked by John Bowkett). I dont think the Rapid MK1 was regulated where as the R10 is, so in theory, should be more consistant. My R10 is +/- 5fps over a 20 shot string using JSB Exact Express or Mossies. I 'liked' my Rapid but I 'love' my R10. i think its just down to personal preference really mate. As sugested try and get a hold of both and see what feels most comfortable in your shoulder. My MKII before I sold it. My R10 out in the field. Regards, Mikey.
-
Hi Rob, Its probably worth about a tenner. But as Im a nice guy, i'll give you 15quid Seriously though, if its a MK3 and in good nick, as muzzy said I wouldnt take less than 250 quid! Mikey.
-
Best of luck Adam, let us know how you get on! Mikey.

which .177 for hunting?
mikeyblue replied to ARRAN's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
I agree, It is basic physics if both projectiles have the same density, weight, velocity shape etc. You throw differing factors into the mix and its far from simple, as my testing proved. Mikey. -
Hi Davy, Tempted to have a drive accross as its not that far from me. Sadly it would be the Saturday though as Im shooting next Sunday and cant reschedule. Regards, Mikey.
-
Nice write up their pal! Mikey.
-
Hi Adam, Best bet is having a hold at your local shop. If the TX200 and HW77 are to heavy try the Weihrauch HW95k mate. Should be able to pick a decent one up quite cheap as well, around 200 quid should see you with a decent combo. Hope this helps. Mikey.

which .177 for hunting?
mikeyblue replied to ARRAN's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Must of been a hurricane! I dont think its as simple as the theory of the heavier the projectile, the less it is affected by wind. For instance I shoot a lot of HFT comps around the country, so am constantly testing different pellets, set ups etc. After talking to Tench he told me he used JSB Heavies 10.3gn in windy conditions. I tried them running them at 715fps in a cross wind, and found them to have the same wind susceptibility as JSB Express 7.9gn running at 815fps. I think the time the projectile is exposed to the wind has to be taken into account also. Edited to say, n
