The dog game has, in my mind, 4 different groups of participants. Those that do it because it is illegal and have got f**k all to loose. Those that do it but adhere strictly to the bullshit laws put in place. Those that are in it for the image, talk the talk but do f**k all. I would recommend wirehaired pointer. Have previous experience with all of them and my findings are:- English pointers are superb rangy quatering dogs, ideally suited to grouse work. German pointers are slightly more bidable and easier to get a close pattern out of. It really depends what type of falconry you are doing, if its for grouse English every time. For everything else I would say German. I would forget vizlas, weinmeranas, spaniels, setters (even though I have 2). Just my personal opinion though. ATB FTB
