  1. I think that is the case here, the guy who made the thread did so in good faith, I don't think he was being censorious, and, he has stated his position and apologised if he has offended anyone,I can't see how he can be fairer than that . It seems to be a case of cross purposes to me.
  2. Moonlighter on here has one for sale. He's a sound bloke.
  3. the Whippet Coursing Club must have been wasting their time for 5 decades, should of asked you before they formed The answer is yes they can and yes they do have enough stamina and no they dont catch as many as other sighthounds try watching this to see a whippets stamina I said they dont have stamina for big winter hare's , and i stand by my word's take a whippet to the fens and put it behind a big winter hare and see what happens A whippet has been ran and killed well on the fens been seen by quite a few aswell, I havnt been lucky enough to have seen it up there tho but t

  5. Are you based in Kent by any chance ? no mate from herts Ok Mate ,its just that there is a guy down here who runs those dogs ,and is well known for his Welsh Cobs.
  6. I'm glad to see this advert got the response it so richly deserved .
  7. Looks a damn good do to me Tomo,I don't think my old legs would stand a night up there ,but I wouldn't mind a bit of that daytime mooching.Glad it worked out allright for you.
  8. Tomo is one of the best posters on this site,I always look forward to his write ups and pics .It would be a shame if he stopped putting pics up because of the negative comments , but perfectly understandable, imo.God all mighty , there are some sour folks on here.
  9. I quite agree , said I wouldn't bite any more, then got involved in a silly feud over locators,on the ferreting forum, should know better at my age, must be going senile. See you in the New Year, and A Happy New Year To You. Tony.
  10. Thats a great picture is that Tomo ..Venus looks in fantastic nick. ATB Andy. Ive been ferreting with Tomo, he is a 100% top bloke. I think the majority of people on this forum like to see pics of how other posters get on when they are out.Unfortunately, there are allways a few crabbers,. A couple of whom have never had anything but a negative response to anyone else's days out , nor a good word for anyone but themselves, which is the reason Magwitch ,and I don't post pics here anymore.Well done Tomo and gang!
  11. I'm in Kent ,I'd be lucky to get 2 on my permission its swarming with half the local site when its dark
  12. And ,if you have no permission they will be right.
  13. Jamie, you didn't miss anything Thursday.Unless you like standing around, doing nothing in the wind and cold all day.
  14. I really don't care how others ferret, what equipment they have, or what they catch. I responded to this thread because I know the lad who started it ,and it appeared he was being slightly bullied.I rarely post here ,[you will be pleased to know.] I am indifferent to whether a poster is erudite, or illiterate, but if you are lecturing you should perhaps spell the subject correctly? If we wanted this forum to take note of our days out, and our tallies ,I would put end of day pics up on this forum. We don't, and I don't. I am far from an expert on ferreting ,or any other form of f
  15. Well done Tomo, Happy New Year to you, and I hope the rest of the season is as good for you.
  16. I don't know if this is intended for me ,but I will answer it.They were not my ferrets , nor my collars. A word to the wise. If you seek to gain any credibility on a matter, It is as well to be able to spell the subject you are lecturing on ,it is LOCATOR, not locater, See ,you can learn something everyday. Oh and diligent , not diligant. As I said previously, you are full of it,and I don't mean useful advice. No it wasnt meant for you has you weren't the OP(original poster) as I've said I don't own a "locator" and I don't care what you think, I know I'm not full of it and plenty wh
  17. And how exactly will you know if she is stuck behind a rabbit , or where that rabbit is,if you have no locator? If you had one you could dig to her, and fetch her out could you not ?How about if she is trapped in a shaft and can't climb out ? Even the ferrets most receptive to squeeks wont be coming out then will they? And, you won't have a clue where it is will you? But perhaps, you employ a type of ferret telepathy? Simples? I quite agree. Why would you prefer to take a day off work to retrieve a ferret next day ,you could have taken home that day,IF you had a locator with you
  18. Agree with most things you say . . . . . . but not going ferreting because you cannot afford a locator, or suggesting that one does not value ones ferrets if one doesnt use one . . . . . . is bollocks! We are now in the 21st century our predcessors use to work without such technologly but we now have the chance to increase the chance of retriving a lossed ferret with £200 or cash FACT. I feel that if a hunter can afford a computer and internet connection then his priorty is not with his ferrets as I would willing give up my luxuries in life to fund a must have tool in todays modern fer
