6 greyhounds shot dead and dumped in limerick
wippydoo replied to Carraghs Gem's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
i dont follow why antis would stage this?are you saying theyd steal the dogs then kill them then leave their bodies for someone to find and then claim it was the owners who did it? bit stupid of them to do this when greys can be traced with their tattoo numbers no i think the dogs werent winning owt and like all greys if theyre not earning anything then get rid.... the cheaper the better.theyre expendable. -
you can buy something called an aboistop collar it doesnt shock the dog it emits a spray of citronella.its humane painless effective and theres no side effects unlike a shock collar, which incidentally has been banned in wales.the cheapest method of training to stop barking or whining is to get a childs water piston or a jif lemon(one thats been emptied and refilled with water)and every time the dog barks or whines give him a quick spray.this doesnt hurt him and doesnt cause behavioural issues which shock collars can .imho they shouldnt be sold to the public only to animal behaviourists

Sorry about this but it can't be the same dog cos the dog wardens just been to collect him. The owners didn't know to report it to the dog warden and someone only told them to do it so they hadn't reported him missing. I've had him since thursday.

I've had a light brindle whippet male here for a few days. He was found and caught running on a busy main road near some local traveller sites. Have you got any pics of this dog and ill compare them?

Its common procedure in show dogs. We also used to put buttons on them in the olden days to strengthen the ear muscles and give better(higher) ear carriage

ADVICE NEEDED PLEASE DIRT IN TERRIERS EARS
wippydoo replied to diggermad's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Almond oil or better still olive oil is great for cleaning ears but if there's mites there you need thornit. If you leave it you risk an aural haematoma and that needs an operation to sort out (aural resection) -
There used to be a lot of problems with liver shunts in bedlingtons. Has your dog got any beddy breeding behind it?

Heater for Terrier sizes kennel
wippydoo replied to buster gonads's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
short haired dogs with no undercoat do need heating in extremes of weather imho otherwise all the money you spend on good food is burned up by the poor bugger trying to keep warm then they cant put any fat down to keep them warm so get colder etc so as far as im concerned its a sensible investment,a dog thats working keeps itself warm burning calories up moving about but if its lying in its bed and cant get warm its going to be tired and more prone to illness etc.if its a thick coated breed with plenty of undercoat then its another matter -
how many do you think? due in 3 weeks.

How does cod liver oil help the pups pass? IT DOESNT!!!!!!!!!! its an old wives tale! -
Can u spare just £2? Ranji is a 24yr old muslim man in pakistan. He has one leg, one arm and one eye. Each day he has to ride 7 miles for water along a narrow road on a rusty bike with bent wheels, no brakes and only one pedal. If you send us just £2, we will send you the dvd- its f*****g hilarious

Goats milk is the closest you can get to bitches milk. Cows milks completely unsuitable and can cause scours in a lot of dogs.

The KC as far as I'm aware don't own or breed ANY dogs. The breeders do. Labradoodles aren't a KC breed they're a mongrel a crossbreed. Getting the KC to recognise any new breed isn't easy. You have to conform to certain rules and regs. Unless breeders keep meticulous records then it aint gonna happen

I had mannies for many year 30 years ago. I'm not saying they're the best dog in the world depends what you want them for. They're sturdy hard as nails healthy little dogs with a turning ability and speed that's superb. We only used ours for ratting at which they excel but I can see them making a versatile little hunting dog crossed with the right breed for what you want.the ones we had tended to be a little stockier boned than the ones around now. They're on the endangered breeds list as there's so few of them around now. Many years ago they were extremely popular as a working mans dog but th

I put a post on here last week warning about a dark blue hiace van in cork that was seen trying to get dogs into. It was featured on the radio. Travellers I believe?

Cod liver oil WON'T slime the pups up!!!! If you value the bitch get her to a vet instead of listening to all the old wives tales and then look at your animal husbandry to prevent it happening again. As work them hard says not all vets are rip off merchants

Skycats given you good advice. Can I just also add that castration of a dog isn't the panacea to all ills that people think it is.it can also affect a dogs behaviour adversely in making it fear aggressive towards other dogs due to the cut off of the testosterone hormone but vets don't tell you that as its a nice little earner for them
