  1. If your interested in a quick set, you can buy the netting and cord from Advanced Netting for less than £40 posted, and pick up a basket and poles from ebay or Magnum and Bob is your dads brother
  2. Peg to Peg is a good book....But Glenn Waters DVD, The art of longnetting is very good and well worth a watch if your not a reader.
  3. The problem is...The trousers arent cheap, and its only after you have bought them you realise the faults! The Seelands are brilliant, if only they were a bit harder wearing.
  4. I wore Seeland Lingfield trousers last season, and I really liked the light weight and breathability of them, but the quality was a bit cobblers, the stitching gave up in the manly area quite early and they were too easily torn...But I did like them Can anyone recommend anything similiar but maybe a bit more hard wearing? Maybe some of the other Seeland types? Brandon, Adventure etc?
  5. I hope your resting well you big poof, you will need all your energy soon

  6. I do like the Collie Greyhound types...There were all the rage in my neck of the woods when I was a young un! I would like a first cross at some point, but now I am happy with my almost version!
  7. That doesn't make sense to me...If its castration bands, he needs to double hitch the line to the pole and use the band to hold the line there.
  8. I have 62 purse nets for sale, the majority of them are 6z/8z 4ft nets, bright green. Some are lighter 4z and some hemp like material, All have hard wood pegs and there is also about 24 spare pegs too. Cheap for someone starting out. £50 posted.
  9. The grommets go onto the poles...just slip them over, and attach your lines by a dobule hitch in the groove of the grommet.
  10. I have used both, but find the Blitz catches the wind too easily on an especially windy night...
  11. Hounds are different I think...There used to the pack way of life, living, hunting...thats there whole being. It might sound wrong to put them down but in fact its probably best. I know a huntsman who tried to rehome several hounds years ago after they were retired, but in the long run being put down was a better option as most of them went crazy at being cooped up and alone, and either eventually got pts anyway, or got killed after breaking out and heading for traffic. But as for a lurcher, or terrier....I dont see how anybody who bred and reared a dog, or even bought one at whatever st
  12. He carries baby wipes in his net bag...Just for me. xoxoxox

  13. You cant argue with the prices...
  14. Of course the spun poly is the better choice, but for me nylon nets are cheap and easy to get, and I dont use that many of them anyway!
  15. Ive never had problems with nylon tangling, except the very light 4z nets which I avoid like the plague...The heavier nylon especially 10z should never pose a problem with tangling
  16. I got recommended a firm called Advanced Netting by a good friend of mine. I called them yesterday after lunch time and ordered some sheet netting and braided nylon, at a very good price. It ARRIVED this morning and is top quality stuff and very good service. In case anybody is putting nets together for the season, advanced netting are well worth a call.
  17. A friend of mine had a one eyed dog many years ago called Sonny, I dont know how he lost it but he worked just as well without it, he sometimes switched sides to strike.
  18. Dont muzzle your ferret. If you happen to loose it, it hasnt a chance and will suffer a long slow death.
  19. LOL...... I know mate, got a face like a pitbull licking shite aff a jaggy nettle....... Well done btw.
