  2. I have a MK3M Ferret Finder and 3 Collars, Only purchased a few months ago for almost £300. I am looking for £200 posted for the lot, Or £170 with 2 collars only. Edited to add: Also includes spare batteries for the receiver and collars
  3. I thought I was the only black legged ferret owner in the country...
  4. Its hard to get a good shot of him to show his leg properly, he's very unique - He doesnt work as he is a bit of a messer! But he isn't much hassle and keeps the jills warm in the colder months. I got him as a kit along with the 6 others in his litter from a breeder who was going to drown them as nobody wanted to buy them. I kept him and 2 jills and rehomed the rest.
  5. I too thought it was legal...But after enquiring with the CAI they have told me different, do you have a link to anything that says it is legal?
  6. This old Hob was bred from an albino Hob & Jill, His black leg is very unusual...
  7. I call them all little b******s when they lay up!
  8. I'd rather sell the lot, but if someone wants the box with 2 collars then no problem
  9. MK3 Ferret finder and 3 collars - £220 posted.
  10. I have never found anything Seeland related to take much abuse...But Meindl boots...A different kettle of fish
  11. Why breed... There's enough ferrets not being looked after properly without adding anymore to the mix - If you want another you can have your pick of them in less than a few months.
  12. It is true...A mole catcher would be hard pressed to find employment in Ireland...
  13. I had probably the last day out today, it was good...But very short! I done 2 small ditches with the dogs and a longnet - 15 out, 2 slipped and were caught by the young bitch. Back home within a couple of hours
  14. A good'un is a good'un....But money shouldnt come into it, ever.
  15. The Irish Hares are certainly strong...And fast, but sometimes just not enough for a keen young lurcher
  16. I have done a bit of ratting with ferrets recently, and they haven't come off any worse than when rabbiting...But maybe they've just been lucky.
  17. Whatever type you get, make sure you put some sort of ferrule on top of it. A lad I ferret with is in hospital today after falling on a long net pole without one and it went through under his arm and out the other side...
  18. The Irish Hare is NOT protected...Contrary to what certain groups groups try and make you believe. Although it is on the agenda...There is no reason, just like the defeat of the proposed hunting with dogs ban, that it cant stay off the protected list. Irish hares in Northern Ireland have been subject to annual temporary Special Protection Orders (SPOs) sinse 2004 which prohibit the killing or taking, or the sale or purchase of hares. they tried to make it a full time protection order in june or july but it got threw out , there was talk of lifting the temporary orders in september 2010

  20. I had the same problem with a shot gun, the onion worked brilliant...
