  1. Very effective in B&W... I like the way you've processed the pic.
  2. Hollie, that's awful I'm glad you're all ok... It's such a bad thing to happen to puppies and kids... Can really scare them and you end up with pups getting the shakes every time they see another dog, or even worse, immediately trying to get the first bite in...
  3. That's dreadful, I feel so sorry for the poor woman and her dog... she must have been terrified, not really knowing what was happening. But it could have been so much worse if she had fallen down and the dog had latched on to her As for the bloke... well, who knows? The dog may never have shown any sign of aggression before, it may not even have been his dog, he might have just been walking it for a friend. Personally I'm wary of these type of dogs, and can't understand why anyone would want one. Wasn't there a recent thread about extremely conditioned dogs, and much ooohing and
  4. Nice shot. I like the beach in winter, but the east coast is just as interesting
  5. Good pics, your windows must be cleaner than mine... Did the second bird catch the first?
  6. Good pics I guess you've had a little bit of rain there?
  7. On somebody else? Unless you know of a very, very good tattoo artist
  8. It's her cat, why shouldn't she dress it up? Ok, it might be a bit sad, and I suspect the cat is somewhat embarrassed, but presumably it has teeth and claws, so it can't have objected that much or Notz's Mum would have been shredded...
  9. Not sure about the pink water, but I love the woodland shots Verrrrry nice! What camera have you got now?
  10. I'm so sorry to hear about your mare... I hope the foal will be ok, at 5 mths it should make it. Spread the word, amd warn other people with livestock in the area. I do hope you catch the scum, and get a chance to dish out your own form of justice before handing them over to the police. I know what I would do if I caught anyone harming any of my animals!
  11. Depends on the brand and type of camera, and where you take it. A sensor clean can cost anything from £25- £40.
  12. 3 weeks? Blimey, you must do a lot of road work... Although it's heavy land round here and if it's a wet winter the shoes don't stay on long enough to wear out!
  13. Have a go at removing the green mesh from the bg. Or maybe desaturate it, focus more attention on the bird?
  14. Around £65 for a full set with road studs, every 8 weeks for my horse. £20 to trim the pony. East Anglia.
  15. Lovely shots Hannah, you (and the dogs) must have had a wonderful time
  16. Why is everyone complaining it's too bright? Looks fine to me... But then I'm a smartarse and calibrate my monitor. Never come across such a reactionary group of luddites before.

On this site? ... Surely not...
  18. I had a Canon 75-300 lens, and it was pretty good, rather regretted selling it! Billyboy - if you're looking for some quality lenses the Canon 100mm macro is a good'un. It's not L, but I reckon the quality of the glass is comparable, and it does make a good portrait lens. The only problem is that at 100mm on a crop sensor you need to be further away than is sometimes possible in a small studio. I've used my 50mm quite a lot for portraits, and also the 70-200L is a very handy lens. I think Interfit do a 2 head studio starter kit for about £200.
  19. Not everyone likes their neighbours...firework fun?
  20. Well I'd like a crisp sunrise with a bit of frost on the grass and a layer of mist hanging over the marshes...
  21. I think fireworks should not be on sale to the general public. Quite apart from the scarey factor to animals, and the very young and very old, they are dangerous. Every year you hear tales of some twat who's blown their hand off, fireworks are stuffed through letterboxes, thrown at people, etc etc... Sure, celebrate Nov 5th, but not for weeks on end as soon as the evenings get a bit dark. Why do fireworks have to be so loud? Aren't there laws about noise control? Sounds like world war 3 going off for most of November these days... A few years ago someone was idiotic enough to
  22. That must have been dreadful... That kind of hurt stays with you far longer than any physical pain.
  23. It's kind of funny but what if the dog decides it's had enough? Shouldn't that little brat have been taught a bit of respect for the dog, not allowed to use it as a toy?
