Ouch... hope you're feeling better today and that they catch the guy in the car... Keep an eye out for the bully & try stay out of trouble until you get your chance Bullies are pathetic mindless cowards and you'll get him one day.
  3. I don't have a problem trusting my vet, but he's been visiting the farm for over 30 years now and I trust his judgement. Ultimately it does depend on the animal's age, general health, and how much it means to you. I have spent far more on vet bills for horses than their material worth, and had to make some tough decisions over the years. I agree that it's the quality of life for the animal that should be of prime consideration, and it annoys me to see how some "animal lovers" keep sick and decrepit animals ticking along because they cannot bring themselves to make the decision to say go
  4. Cool dandy pic Beginning to wish I had a cameraphone - be a bit lighter to carry than my camera!
  5. Good pics Dog Fox - the last flower one is really nice Cameras like your fuji are often really good at macro pics. Snap - that last spider pic is well good, but I hate spiders
  6. That's really nice - I like the colours. Try cloning out the twiggy bit behind the bird, would make it perfect
  7. Excellent shots Looks like there's a bit of litter around the nest sites though
  8. Cute, in a scruffy sort of way lovely pic!
  9. Must admit I prefer puppies to snotty kids and who wouldn't love these hound pups :thumbs-up:
  10. I agree I don't see them as particularly cute and fluffy but I see no reason to eradicate them in areas where they do no harm. I don't think they belong in towns, and urban foxes always seem to be the "disease ridden" variety. If they are causing a problem they need to be controlled, same as badgers, but I agree they do have a part to play in the countryside.
  11. They are really nice shots Love these little birds, they can make a lot of noise for something so tiny!
  12. Some lovely photos there That is one mad bitch though... I think if she was mine I'd hardly dare let her off the lead That's a fairly hefty rail she broke, she must be pretty tough. I hope she does make it to old bones, but it looks like it'll be a miracle unless she switches the brain on occasionally!
  13. not explaining it very well....I'll try again....if I enlarge the picture to say aroung 50% if I try to save it without doing anything it reverts back to its normal size . If on the other hand I crop the edges it allows me to save the image does that make sense????? Ummm... no. I'm guessing you mean that you're referring to zooming in on the pic on your screen? This isn't making any difference to the actual size or resolution of your pic, just how you are viewing it, just like looking at something through a magnifyng glass. The actual pixel dimensions and file siz
  14. That's a lovely shot When we had some nearby they were cheeky as hell, great fun to watch, and often out early evening too.
  15. jesus christ, its the nest police [/quote It was a genuine question not a dig.But alas Google came up trumps.......... .........Schedule 1 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. If you “intentionally or recklessly†disturb a Kingfisher, Barn Owl or any other bird listed in Schedule 1 whilst trying to photograph it “in, on, at or near†the nest or whilst it has dependent young, and without the necessary Licence from Natural England (or other licensing authority), you may be committing a criminal offence punishable by a fine of up to £5,000 and/or a prison sentence of up to 6
  16. Bit harsh for a 14 year old. lol I think he is wanting a job helping a gamekeeper btw. FTB Harsh, maybe... But the lad still needs to get an education under his belt, if only to understand and fill in the endless forms required for just about everything these days, and to read up on all the weird things that can happen to gamebirds etc. Practical experience is most important, but getting it is the tricky bit. Proving you have knowledge of the theory, and do actually have the capacity to absorb knowledge might help secure a place on a decent estate.
  17. One can only hope it's experience in reading, writing, and 'rithmetic...
  18. So cute... Our local ones haven't hatched yet... hope the mink don't get them
  19. Either the Canon 1000D or the Nikon D3000 is a good starting point. For a little more money the Pentax k-x is a very high spec camera too... Most of these come with a standard 18-55 lens, so if you want to do wildlife or action shots you would probably need an extra lens in the 70-300mm range. I personally use Canon, but these days all new dslrs will deliver good images (if you know how to use them)
  20. I love the first shot - lovely blurred out background and I like how you've focused on just a couple of the flowers The colour flowers are really nice too, the high key look suits it and gives a dreamy feeling to the pic. Nice landscapes too, but you seem to have got a bit of a lean on the horizon... I take lots of pics like that too, but mine tend to lean the other way Nothing photoshop can't straighten out... I like the last pic, but I'd like to see a bit more detail in the sky. I'm a big fan of moody skies
