  1. sigma 50-500mm seccy hand or canon 100-400 new , sigma also do a 2x adaptor was looking to give that a try too The Sigma 50-500 does have a massive range, and i think they also do a 150-500 which I've heard gives slightly better quality results. I've just got the Canon 100-400, and it's a very well built piece of kit, and I actually quite like the push-pull zoom. Haven't had time to use it properly yet though Teleconverters are okay, but you generally lose a stop or two and they can slow the autocus down (if it will still work with an extender, which it may not depending on
  2. Love that dog shot "come on, stop bu99ering about with that camera"
  3. Yes. What lens are you thinking of? I wouldn't buy anything other than Canon...
  4. Very nice bit of practice Maybe not works of art, but the first one is artistic in an abstract sort of way and shows you're seeing patterns and shapes. No 2 has lovely reflections and was taken at the best time of day for photogrphay The... er... sheepdog pic is amusing and I like the way the sheep are looking at the dog. I'd crop the top off the pic though, chop it off to a fraction below the top rail of the gate, just above the sheep. As it is I'm looking past the sheep too quickly and getting distracted by the house! The last pic is a nice enough record shot but next time try getti
  5. very sorry for the family who lost their little dog - it may have been small but no doubt had a big heart and was much loved... Foxes do seem to be very newsworthy at the moment, but it's about time that people became aware of the truth and realised that foxes are not cute fluffy Basil Brush type creatures.
  6. Try posting on the Farmer's Weekly, What's New in Farming, and similar sites. If you're really interested in farm work as a career why not apply to your nearest agricultural college? Most farmers are looking for experienced workers, and there are a lot of students looking for holiday work at the moment. Try and get as much experience as you can, maybe at the farms where you hunt? Good luck in your search.
  7. Oh dear... In future I'll have to tell the collies to ask the cows & sheep really nicely and in a totally non-intimidating way if they would mind moving into the yard in an orderly fashion and not legging it up the road via the neighbour's lawn...
  8. How does a dog act gay? Is he visiting gay bars? Watching too much ballroom dancing on TV? Being nice to cats????
  9. That is so sad... I dread to think how many other kids are in the same situation and are going to end up on the trash heap... It's a bit different out here in the country and I'm not sure that it's anything new for town kids to be ignorant of wildlife and countryside stuff. But I'd have thought that with all the TV programmes on the subject that they would have had a better understanding of it. I guess their Mums are too busy watching all the soaps and celebrity crap to make sure their kids watch anything vaguely educational, and why would they care anyway? I seem to remember hav

  12. Pretty little flower They do look like bees.
  13. I like the 2nd shot too The light catching the water is lovely.
  14. A Bluebird? Lovely shots, btw. That little bird is very colourful.
  15. Good try Kay Dragonflies often have favourite resting sites and flight paths, so if you watch them for a while you can track them easier.
