Something about the Manc Derby just doesn't quite add up!

class :clapper: Now I know why Kahn looked so pissed off watching from the stands..... -
I'm a bit concerned about it mick as this is prime flying land I have hawked and shot over for years. the Rabbits virtually just lay down when caught the behave identicle to a Bunny riddled with Mixxy but with no visable signs, infact they look perfect....

went out with a pal the other day Ferreting and Hawking on a old Landfull site I have hawked for years, in the past I have never had a problem with the bunnies on there but the last few times we noticed a few that are bolted never have any GO about them, they come out the hole like a Rabbit with mixxy and litterly just trot with no fight about them which are easily taken by the Hawk. I have checked them over time and time again to this date can't find any signs of them being molested by the Ferret or any signs of desease. the crunch came the other day when I gave my bird a cropfull off one

Took a ride out with Will Harris today on some old ground. Wills HH took the first bunny over Ferrets while my male Gos debated on weather he was on hunting weight or not . shortly afterwards a easy one after a tussle with the ferrets presented itself and the Gos took it .... walked over to another patch where Will's Ferrets was working well as usual, one Rabbit bolted which made a lucky escape to a hole and later another bolted well which was taken by my male but unfortunately kicked itself free as I was making in . Finally one more tried to make its escape for him to connect with an

I know a falconer who was flying a pure Barbary falcon which flew around 25 oz's. personaly its not the flying weight I would be worried about and more of her top aviary weight or penning weight. some people feel the need to have their birds sharper than needed, others may fly the same bird alot higher depending on its condition. what was her top aviary weight? It sounds a female to me to be honest Barky, I wouldn't think many Pere x Barbary tiercels top out at 1lb 8 let alone fly at that weight. if you are still worried about it there are a few places that can DNA sex the bird for you on

cleaning pellets? your thought ?
jasper65 replied to mullymully's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Couldn't agree more Davy.... got myself a .177 - .22 cleaning kit with the brushes and rods which works a treat. it surprised me how much crap comes out of the barrel and also accumilates in the silencer.... Jasp -
with Kat and bigbulls on this one... some have strange habits which can never be answered. I know its totaly different but I have heard of Parrots doing this and even a Raven plucking its feathers out of its thighs. think this is mainly down to bordom and frustration.........

Very nice, some class work there .........

what sort of clip did you use on the swivel Pete? heard some nightmares of people loseing them after useing Dog clips. if someone has stolen it I hope you manage to catch up witth them mate, its bad enough having scum steal anything but stealing livestock is scrapeing the barrel.... Can I ask who bred him? if you want to pm me no problem. also Imprinted or P/R? if I hear of anyone who has picked up a mature tiercel in this area I'll check it out....... Jasper

Its a strange one D. The gun went into the cabinet bang on zero, I pulled it out for a flutter yesterday and it was shooing a couple of inches low and off to the right. I put a fair few pellets through it incase it was me but it was consistantly dropping them in the same place. I noticed this before in the cold winter months.. I'm totaly brain dead why it effects my POI so badly? cheers, Jasp

Picked up a Mamba over a year ago after talking to Davy and a few lads on here. I took their advice and can't fault it, Its definitely a scope to be recommended ......... Jasp

Nice one mate . its been sprayed over pink now to match the pink Hawking gear I topped it up a while before putting it away so the same air has been in the gun a few months, it doesn't seem to have leaked as its virtually on the same mark on the Gauge. the other thing I find a bit confuseing Davy is when the power drops it shoots all over the place and needs setting up again? Must say it was nice getting it out again and having a few pops, I need to get it right to clear out a few squirrels and pigeons for the birds, the Pigeons and now flocking in the woods around here ... atb J

Looks a good tool Ian . the Brittany is one dog here that would benefit from one, mind you the missus could do with one for her jack and danny, moustache and armpits ......

Anyone else noticed a ft/lbs power drop on their Pre charged guns in cold weather? havn't done much with mine for a good few months but got the Ranger out the other day and noticed a POI change to when the gun was put away, I then stuck it over the chrono over a average 5 shots with a return on 10.994 FT/LBS = 755.2FPS useing Field Target Trophies .177 8.64 Grains. I have noticed in the warmer summer months it averages around 11.5ft/lbs . Can't say I have noticed such a drop with the springers? Hope you all have a good 2012 anyway men Jasp

I had a Gos get kicked off a Hare three times and still had the pace and agility to get back up and nail it again. also seen a good size old female lose her grip on a Hare and get back up and have it down again before it reached cover . Not many Eagles get them again after missing and being grounded........

(Flagyl) Metronazole.... Knocks seven shades out of Frounce (Trichomonas)... there's other treatments but I have used this a few times with a Gos that always got it around breeding time, this stuff cleared it up everytime ...........

I'm stuck here at the moment as I need to be here when they finally decide to clear up, they won't have the decency to come round and tell me so its a case of getting down there when they start and do what I can with the birds .... I'm betting the next thing they will do is burn the lot straight down the side of my aviaries......

"Will K" on here lamps with his Harris's, both his birds are going well on the lamp. send him a PM or perhaps if he sees this he will get back to you ......

Nice one Bud cheers went out in the garden the other morning just after putting the Goshawk out to weather to fnd 4 dogs running about down the veg patch, the dogs came from one of the pickers up but I know 100% not one Pheasant came into this boundary, after a few choice words off they went. I have no doubt in my mind the Dogs would have tried to pick my Gos off its Bow perch if he was bateing about. two days after this they're down there with the mini digger along the whole back hedge and trees ..... time to get the electric fence up and running around my weathering areas ...
