  1. sorry to hear that, keep an eye on freeads such as adtrader or preloved. Hope you find em.
  2. Give her a plate of cat milk whilst shes lapping it up stroke her, avoid sudden movements etc. Get some tone or malte paste from p@h put it on your hand a clench your fist so she cant get grip, if she goes to bite take the tasty treat away, keep offering untill she doesnt bite. She will learn that hands are good things and provide food.
  3. Not realy sure, mine have either, cat milk or lactofree milk. They bloody love it.
  4. Great setup for them that is
  5. Hope you can find its owners. Well done for taking it in.
  6. Get her to the vet. Ferrets go down hill very quickly.
  7. They will be out with chicken wire, they can chew through it. I use the weld mesh on a roll, found wickes to be cheapest. Patio will be fine.
  8. I use the large "classic" bottles. The big 1 litre ones are best as spout is much thicker which allows them to get more water easier. I use a coop cup underneath to catch any drips, they drink out of that too.
  9. I would split them up, all mine are castrated so live happily together all year round.
  10. woodbased or paperbased litter. I use beauticat woodbased litter, 30litre for £10. But you can get smaller bags of woodbased from supermarkets too or wilkos.
  11. Yeh my ferrets all use em. I use woodbased litter. Its the clumping/clay litters you should stay away from incase they eat ir or it gets "places".
  12. I would just put a few notices in petshop or local shop saying "found ferret" or ring a few vets and report it as found. Give it a week or two and if nobody claims it then you've done all you can.
  13. Alot of people who keep ferrets outside bring them in the house for a few hours a day, its no life stuck in a hutch day in day out. They love to race round and go looney. Make sure everythings out of reach and you put them in a room with a cleanable floor. I use the cheap woodbased litter for mine, works great. Scoop the sawdust out daily and empty tray when all pellets break down. Easier than shavings as you dont need to throw it all out.
  14. dont agree with spraying alsorts of chemicals on them just for are sakes. Just get them castrated & spayed they hardly have any smell at all then if they are kept clean.
  15. poor buggers, there no need when ferret rescuea are about.
  16. I have found a few ferrets and reunited them back with their owners. What realy piss's me off is when people find ferrets and dont attempt to try and find their owners and just keep em or give them away like theyre their own.
  17. Another tip is to line the bottom of your hutch with lino and put it a couple of inch's up the walls too. Its so much easier to disinfect and wipe down than scrubbing bare wood
  18. If you're using bowls I use those heavy ceramic dog bowls and they cant tip em over. Mine have got landrainage pipe, cat toys, tunnels, hanging baskets, hammocks to keep em enetertained.
  19. Im immune to the ferret smell aswell lol. Also if it helps to know if you have them neutered it reduces the smell of them dramatically. & no it doesnt affect their working ability lol. If they are kept as clean as possible and have a good diet smell shouldnt be too bad. Bathing em will only make them smell just as bad as its just stripping their fur of natural oils that they have to produce over again.

When you get ferrets from a rescue, their policy is normally that you have to return the ferrets back to the rescue, you must not pass it on.
  21. The reason they charge that much is because thats how much vets charge rescues to neuter them so they need to cover costs.
  22. chicken wings/livers/mince cheap from supermarkets. Failing that dry cat biscuits will do for a short time (kitten if you can, it tends to have more protein).
  23. I feed mine vitalin and whatever else I can get, normally alpha. They get raw meat aswell and odd egg or cat milk. Dry food is better than feeding them wet cat food or bread & milk IMO. Mine do well onnit they all seem healthy.
  24. They love it dont they, mine get some cat milk atleast twice a week as a treat.
