  1. Get some posters made out, ring vets, ferret rescues, rspca and anywhere you think anyone would takee a ferret. Good luck
  2. I was just going to say lksopener had some stolen. Hope its one of yours mate.
  3. Some hobs can get on well but some wont even if they are brothers and are together from young. You can get them castrated which will stop it all and they'll be able to live together all year round happily. Or you can seperate them if your worried and they are drawing blood on each other. Isnt unusual though for hobs not to kill each other through mating season when kept together . hope this helps.
  4. you shouldnt of put a picture on mate anyone will claim its theres. Ive looked on ferrets lost/found and theres nothing lost on there in your area.
  5. Sorry to hear that mate. Still inform the local vets though as kids might have just let him out and let him go you never know. Have you rang hull and east riding ferret rescue, tell them that hes missing incase she gets any polecats handed in. Also inform the rspca. Hope you get him back. Edited to add heres no for the rescue 01430-423249.
  6. Been to a market before, never again. Wanted to take the lot home. I think its sad, couldnt people take them to a rescue that way they wont be rehomed to any tom, dick or harry. No life for the ferrets, most probably will be past from pillar to post all their lifes as no doubt some of them will end up back on that market. Sad when folk think about money over animals welfare.
  7. Just dont use chicken wire or they'll be out
  8. Glad hes perked up mate. I agree malt you have got to put your feelings aside for the animal. But some things are easily fixed. Whats point putting down a ferret that could be perfectly healthy with a shot of antib's. People choose to have animals and when times get hard and they cant be arsed with the effort/money involved. And no before anyone starts I wouldnt keep a ferret alive for my sake or put it through stuff that would be unfair/stressfull. YOU only know YOUR animals. Tallyho i was just saying what i thought just like you did, is that not allowed! Im probably more than half
  9. Raw meat such as rabbit, chicken wings, pheasant, pigeon. Dry biscuits. I also give em raw egg once a week, lacto free milk, sardines in oil. Better fed than me
  10. Grea idea ^^^, NOT. "knocking an animal on the head" when you're guesing whats wrong with it and could be easily fixed Another example of the pricks who treat ferrets as "disposeable" pets. Dont deserve animals.
  11. Is he eating and drinking? If not you need to syringe water into him regular, or cat milk as they normally take that more willingly. (Dont use normal milk it will go streight through him)
  12. None of us are vets. I would get him to the vet mate preferably one that knows abit about ferrets. As soon as possible aswell as they go down hill very fast, could be something simple. I had one that went realy weak she looked like she was on deaths door, wasnt drinking or eating, turned out she had a bacterial infection. Probiotics sorted it out and shes fine now.
  13. any news, whats the police have to say. Good way is to put out a story in the local paper, and make em too hot to handle. Also state that their microchipped neutered or that some of em require medication.
  14. Sorry to hear that mate. I hope you get them back. Mine are hopefully all secured, but if someones determined they will get in. I'll be waiting with a sledge hammer lol.
  15. Everyday without fail. Mind you mine only have littertrays so doesnt take long at all. Whats a couple of mins of your day. I disinfect and scrub shed and run once a week and wash bedding once a week & trays.
  16. Hammocks, hanging baskets, sand/compost box, cat toys on elastic, old tyre, tunnels. Theres alsorts they love, most are happy with a cardboard box with few holes cut in lol.
  17. Thats great but i would make few shelves full size of the shed, to make the most of the height space. That would mean though that you cant get innit lol. Edited to add, they love a big sheet used as an hammock and its used as another level.
  18. well we have security lights, wireless burglar alarm on the shed aswell as padlocks on both shed & hutch's. Might not stop em but it'll slow em down and its a deterrent. Takes couple of minutes extra on a morning to get into em, its like fort knox lol, sad that we have to do this.
  19. Someone might be missing her you need to advertise her as found in all the local vets and petshops etc as someone may be looking for her. Well done for taking her in.
  20. Nice ferrets mate! Glad you're building them a new house. Those cages are way too small and the mesh floors are not ideal.
  21. Nope mine are not fat, they would probably be fatter if I fed them now and again as they would wolf it all down thinking whens the next lot gonna be.
  22. Yeah great idea, breed your own so you can make a few quid! If people want to make money they should get a f*cking job & not make money out of poor animals for their selfish needs. Also what kind of diddly donk sells their ferrets at those markets anyway, no decent ferret owner would rehome them via a market.
  23. You will need to seperate the ferrets come breeding season or have them neutered so you can keep em together al year round. Mine have dry food down all the time, big heavy dog bowl so they cant tip it up and they also get raw meat.
