  1. Nice ferrets, court looks great size for em too
  2. theres only one company that insure em, and they dont insure em after 5 year old You would be better putting money into a seperate bank acount for em each month/week.
  3. your brother i think it is posted about it the other day http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...howtopic=124859
  4. Mine have dry food 24/7 and raw meat at night. I realy dont understand people who feed dog/cat food to ferrets especially the wet stuff. Would you feed your cat, dog food.. your goldfish, cat food? Ferret = Ferret Food I also feed mine chicken wings with no problem too .. the bones clean their teeth where as the wet stuff will probably just canker up the teeth.
  5. what sort of tray have you got, isnt a corner one is it.. although my ferrets use em fine alot of people say their ferrets wont use the corner ones. Ferrets like to back up into the corner so they like to get all their body in the tray, so get a large cat tray lol. Put the tray in their favourite corner and fasten it down, if they go anywhere else put food bowls there, treats, toys etc to block it off.. Place some poo and wee in the tray and hope they go init I use trays as i find it easier than cleaning the hutch out everyday and also makes the hutch's last longer as it saves em fro
  6. I feed mine Vitalin and give em raw meat on a night They also get treats like, raw egg, cat milk and ferretone.
  7. the ferret on the bottom right of the first pic looks abit lean? Its a great run but god cant belive you let someone treat your ferrets like that. I know they like to play rough but bloody hell.. nearly crippled the poor little buggers, then if he'd of got bit.. you'd of been complaining and wanting rid.
  8. turn em on their belly on your knee, put some ferretone or olive oil on their belly, whilst theyre licking it off clip away.. dont go into the pink vein! Dont feed bread and milk, ferrets are lactose intolerant which means they cant digest lactose and bread would do nothing what so over for em. If you want to give em some milk, cat milk is a good treat for em cos its short on lactose. They have short digestive system so they eat couple of times a day, so leave a bowl of dry food in the cage all the time and feed the rabbit and other raw meat at night especially in the summer.
  9. Mine love dig box's, toy box filled with soil, sand, shredded paper, rice. They love carrier bags, tubes and more tubes, empty bottles with stones inside to make a rattle, cat toys, cardboard box's, hanging baskets with blanket in, empty food sack with holes cut innit, Jeans to use as tunnels. Large pop bottles with ends cut off, selotape em all together to make see through tunnel. Hammocks, toys hung up on some elastic/string.
  10. Just make sure theyve always got a full belly full of meat, leave some dry food down all the time for em, generally a happy ferret is a ferret with a full belly. Then make sure they get some time out of the cage to run around so they can let some steam off.. start handling them, abit of ferretone on your knuckle if you dont feel confident with your hand then they cant get grip, if they nip move away your hand they will soon learn that nipping equal no nice tasty things and they will associate hands with good thing. sick of hearing the advice of nose flickers, that makes a ferret bite e
  11. Just because hes tame doesnt mean his kits will be tame, sometimes alot of time and effort is needed to correct kits nipping.
  12. I use them dog fleeces from pound shop for bed and woodbased cat litter in the trays and lino on the shed floor. I dont use straw cos it can harbour ticks and that and there as been a few stories of ferrets geting straw in their eyes and some had male ferrets with straw stuck up their "privates" ouch!
  13. soz to hear theyve been stolen Padlocks wont stop the theif if they are attached to hutchs..they would just kick them in if wood and mesh is the thin stuff, best off moving them into some type of outbuilding with an alarm on the door.
  14. Done a great job there, looks spot on Bet the ferrets u'l love it.
  15. I go sit in the shed or run with em a couple of times a day, morning when Im feeding em & then when I come home from college and im supposed to be cleanin em out (with them using me as a climbing frame then at night when theyre meat is served lol, I have em climbing on me head and they all use me to climb upto to get into the cage where their meat is put lol. I handle em everyday and give them all a quick check over. Then I normally just sit in the run with em and they normally just run around like loonies and attack me feet.
  16. Good pics, mine have got one of them, wel theyv got alsorts. How many you got in that cage, cant you sort a run out for em on the front? Is that newspaper layed flat, try shredding the newspaper, more absorbant.
  17. lovley ferrets, but can i ask what the collars are for?
  18. also you might have to cover the steel lid with something when its hot, hutch's & sheds get very hot in the summer and ferrets cant handle the heat.
  19. not being funny or owt but how big are theese hutch's, are the 3 ferrets gonna be let out to exercise individually everyday?
  20. sorry to hear about ya ferret, a dont use the pdsa but this is what it says on their website: What are the eligibility criteria? To be eligible, pet owners need to live within the defined catchment area of a PDSA PetAid hospital or PetAid practice and must be receiving financial help with their housing costs through either Housing Benefit or Council Tax Benefit. This means that one in five UK households is eligible for help by PDSA.
  21. I feed mine variety of foods all mixed together, if one goes of the market or I cant get hold of one the ferrets dont get fussy & it gives em a variety so its not boring for em. I get all mine online.
  22. You did it right the first time, ferrets need ferret food mate, not cat food.
  23. or you can get em all castrated, then you can have em all living together peacfully.
