  1. I give mine a cat litter tray full of water, they love it lol. Nice setup.
  2. yes but fans dont work with ferrets realy because they dont sweat.
  3. yes but their hutch's and sheds need to be kept cool also as they can be like ovens in this weather. Just thought id put a post up for anyone new to keeping ferrets.
  4. Makes sure their in the most shaded part of your garden. Freeze pop bottles of water and put them in their bed box's to keep it cool. Hang wet sheets over their hutch's, sheds, run etc. Trays of water to for them to paddle in, and to drink from so they dont dehydrate with just bottles (especially if fed dry). You can buy them ice pods from petsathome also which are like freezer packs.
  5. well it sounds promising as theyve actually turned up. Good luck with your case keep us all updated.
  6. That is disgusting. It makes me sick thinking of a ferret in a ferret box with no food or water for a week. I would of never even put the phone down untill i got my animal back. I would go streight to the papers, they will probably ask the rspca for a statement in which they will have to investigate it. That poor ferret. Says alot for the owner too, leaving an animal 5 days. The police officer in charge should be prosecuted for causing unnecessary suffering to an animal. TBH aswell, you as the owner. I wouldnt let you keep a goldfish.
  7. Once you've filled the bottle. If you squeeze the bottle so the some water comes out and the bottle will create a vaccum that way you will see it bubbling.
  8. Looks like a healthy litter. Nice colour they are.
  9. i use the giant ones http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CLASSIC-GIANT-1-1L-ANIMAL-DRINKING-BOTTLE-PET-RABBIT-/150306663048 Spout is much better for ferrets as its thicker and bigger ball-bearing. Those others i think are more for hamsters.
  10. I use those big 1 litre bottles for mine. I put one of theese under their bottles works a treat. http://www.petplanet.co.uk/product.asp?dept_id=574&pf_id=1787&co=fr&gclid=CMrmzJGbirACFQ1lfAodbWcoNA
  11. I use heavy dog bowls for water, easier for them to drink more. I use bottles aswell and put a coop cup underneath them so they can drink from that when it drips.
  12. yep got mine from pets at home, mine get to go in the big run aswell though everyday.
  13. seen those on ebay. Ive one simlar, looks like the wood could do with a paint. Looks like a bargain.
  14. i know a few people whos got them coops for ferrets but they say they have to be covered in tarp all way round or everything gets soaked.
  15. yeah much better to see ferrets with space, than stuck in a 3ft hutch all their lives.
  16. That rescue is still up and running as far as i know. The price is for the ferrets to be castrated/spayed. Rescues will get it done at discount rate as they have loads done. They still loose out with food bills etc. Much better to have em all done IMO, can have them all living together all year round (without jills coming into season, hobs fighting) not to mention the smell
  17. I will get some more pics of mine inside the run if you want.
  18. thats great mate, id defo do a skim over the floor. Are you going to be able to get through that small door LOL.
  19. thats great mate You could put a sloped roof onnit.
  20. yes or this might work out cheaper http://www.wickes.co.uk/invt/187735
  21. wilkos sell cage mesh for about 4 quid a roll. Might get some for nowt if you ask on freecycle etc.
  22. Thats a good use of space, great. Gonna say you will need a lid lol. Dont want to put a downer onnit mate but be carefull with chicken wire cos ferrets can chew through it. Wouldnt want ya to loose em. Sit the hutch on some bricks aswell so saves floor space
  23. He said there was fluid in the animals back end. Well anyone in their right mind knows that fluid usually will not go away on its own. Wasnt a case of the ferret was looking abit under the weather. If this fluid suddenly appeared overnight hen obviously theres something wrong isnt rocket science. Too late to discuss it, animal died. Probably suffered.
