nope thare roufghlay same size sum of the dogs can get big (dog is a hob polecat) my frend has a copple that came from wild for breeding and sum of the pures he has bred are as taim as anay ferret the first xes can be nippyer due to the wild and domesatated genses combineing haveing no feal but still being wild but pure wild polecat will and can be taim and 1/4 polecat shoodent be nippy eatehr due to the geense being dilouted if anay 1 has anay questions about hybrids or true whild polecats pm me and i will ask my frend after all he went to unaveristay studdied them and getting paied to resear

julia wild polecats are not smaller than tame ferrets infact they are nearly twice the size of an average tame ferret .........

I field trial Spaniels and no Dog is a hundred percent honest.Some are a lot more honest than others but given a chance or opportunity may do there own thing.I had a Lab in as a stud at kennels last season ..better standard than anything I could train ,seen it worked it on a shoot the steadiest thing Ive ever seen in short I would have bet money it wouldnt chase or move on anything.I took it to big partidge shoot and used with my lab picking up. The day went well two Labs and a Spaniel walking at heel, picking anything that fell or ran till after second to last drive going through some grass

paid get yourself down to west wales and you will see wild polecats in their plenty ... they are a far cry from the domestic variety .... oh just dont try picking one up or you will be nicknamed three fingers freddy from that day on lol ...........

i whent dow this road many many moons ago and the wastage is just not worth the hassle ... untill the wild polecat gene is diluted to about a 1/4 (so 3/4 ferret 1/4 wild polecat) you will have a nightmare handeling them ... however they do make very good workers with what seems to be a better finding and flushing rate than your run of the mill ferret ... but as i said its not for the faint hearted or thin skinned lol ....

I just thought that I would put this up with the big freeze on the way and according to the weather people this is going to be the worst winter on record …. I did a similar thing in the summer with regards to heat injurys … some of it may be teaching you to suck eggs but it may be of use to the new lads to the game … firstly lets remember that dogs can get hypothermic … this happens when a dog’s body temperature drops below 95 degrees Fahrenheit …. i always start mine at around 10 to 12 weeks mate nice and steady just an hour at a time first then back in the truck for a kip ... as they get older they get longer go back in the truck for a break and then come out again to do a bit more ... when you see them getting bored instead of trying to push them to keep going put them back in the car to stop them getting fed up ... keeping them keen is the key and pushing them to hard as youngsters ............ TEGAN AT 12 WEEKS OUT FERRETING ................. 5 MONTHS LEARNING TO FOLLOW THE FERRETS AND THE ART OF LONGNETTING ........

funny enough i was talking with chalkwarren and the big fish about this today ... i love my daytimr hunting it tests the dogs hunting up ability its marking running etc etc etc its tests your fieldcraft skills and the obviouse one that ferreting is hard work at night ... as a youngster i would crave the dark windy nights ... now after a full days work i get home and my missus makes me a spread fit for a king and i grab a beer from the fridge and i sit down and chill out ... then i see the weather pick and i uummm and aaarrrr and then think i'l have another beer .... dont get me wrong i h

my missus is a vegetarian has been since she was 14 doesnt like dogs as a rule and doesnt like hunting .... HOWEVER she will cook me any meat i want brings on the pups basic training and looks after the dogs when i am away and is chief nurse when one is injured and now realises that hunting is not cruel and as long as animals are humanely and quickly killed she is ok with it ...........
