What do you think you will be or are ??? I was away a lot when my kids were growing up and missed a fair bit of their lives and I Realy have to to take my hat off to my missus in bringing up well rounded polite and trouble free kids ... When I was around I was always busy or stressed or tired and I feel deep down I could have been a better dad ... Now as I get older I am mellowing a lot and have more time I think I will be a much better grandfather with more time to do things with my grandkids when they come along .... How do you fellas feel ... are you better grandparents than you were parent

Yep makes sense ...thats why i wondered if a flirt pole is much good for anything more than a bit of fun......if a dog hasnt got the instinct to chase something your not going to put it there.........a short 5 minutes a day of twisting turning up and under getting the dog off balance was good for the dopey bulldogs i just thought a smart lurcher would be above all that .......that look they give you is embarrassing makes you feel about 4 foot tall !imagine that feeling when your stood at the start of a racing event in a packed lurcher and terrier show and your supposed great working dog just

I've owned dogs that wouldn't chase a lure as adults and give the exact look you describe lol ... But it's the old nature versus nurture thing again and almost all pups with running dog blood in them will chase something that's fast moving past them on instinct and as I stated its a good tool for pups as an adult if their getting enough work they shouldn't need a flirt pole unless it's just for a bit of fun .........
