    Them big deep rangey dungeons are ideal for a jacker that'll only give you half an hour on a fox, can put some amount of foxes in front of a lurcher if that's your thing.

    Going to build a small outdoor aviary in the next couple of years, it'll have a nice flight with a few canaries, goldfinches. Bit of a tribute to my ole fella who would of had anything up to 60 at a time, canaries goldfinches bullfinches and mules, must be 20 years from some piece of shit let himself in to the aviary and killed a load and let the rest out, he got a few of the released back but it broke his heart and he packed it in.

    And the best result we ever had was at the start of November on a warm sunny day when the mates terrier dropped in on a walk local to him and he rang me to bring tools and a lurcher, dug 4 out of different earth's along a bank 200 yards long, all tight little rabbity spots and the big old disused badger set that would of occasionally held had nothing at home. What made them foxes push in where they did and not use the big roomy spot I'll never know.

    If your just checking earth's for fox then you'll have to have plenty to check, going over the same earth's every week might get the odd result but will mostly draw blanks.

    It's heartbreaking listening to your father wishing he was dead, my ole fella is bed bound and wrecked with dementia but in his moments off clarity (which are few) when he actually knows who I am the only thing he speaks about is death and how if he had the strength he'd end it. It's a living hell that for now he has no escape from.

    I've seen some outstanding digging dogs ruined because of false marking, an absolute disaster when the habit starts and one I've never seen righted.

    My lurcher would lose all condition and be in rags if he was left in kennels beside a bitch in session, the one time I hadn't the space to move him he never touched his grub 2 weeks.
