  2. TRAMMEL NETS!!!!! fuk iam just a novice!!!! please teach me the wrights and wrongs regarding nets.... I DO NOT CLASS MYSELF PREMIERE LEAGE LIKE,,,, BUT I RECKON IAM UP THERE WITH BEST,,,,OH and by the way you lads that use the TRAMMEL set up,,keep us novices posted..........we live and learn each day......... KIND REGARDS.........
  3. BULL SHITE,,buy fuk Moley you talk total pish... stick to the moletrapping..JOKER.......nothing personal hear but stick to your trammel nets,,, Daylite Netter,,,wire in mate,, not my kettle of fish,,,,........... KIND REGARDS .........A TRUE NETTER.........
  4. TRAMMELS (tri mesh).... this type of net is highly regarded in the fishing industry!!!! have i used them!!! yip !! for fish mainly,,,, rabbits,,, well they have there use i suppose in a small scale,,, but for the seriouse night time netter who maybe setting up to say 250 yards per drop they are a no no,,,,, i like to move between sets as quickly as possible,,,, a Trammel net (useing the above yardage) would just hold me back...
  5. why does everyone jump to conclusions?, i don,t remember saying i use a trammel at night , i don,t , i use trammels thru the day, i use them cos i work alone and it gives you that bit longer to get to a rabbit or if 3-4 rabbits hit the net at the same time , i,m not running round like an idiot , trying to get them before they escape, also if i have to do a hedge on my own , i set the trammel on the opposite side and before anyone says , "if there plenty of bagging ,you won,t loose rabbits" well anyone that has done plenty of netting will know that no matter what you use , you will loose some,
  6. LONGNETTING...trammel neting!!!!!! buy fuk thats a new one,, I dont now about you fellow netters but its hard enough killing a tradditional net (in darkness ) never mind a Trammel Net......REGARDS A TRUE NETTER...............
  7. Good on you,, theres no stopping you now
  8. Top class tool, highly recommended
  9. Try loading the needles anti-clockwise from the spool,,, it may make a difference, if not send the twine back to them
  10. It would be difficult to go ferreting wearing a LOVE ME JACKET
  11. How did you guess  Just lucky i guess
  12. I take it its made by a CHEAP EEC net & twine factory then
  13. 200 metres =228yds not 200 so it is 78yds more and it aint made in the far east It aint made in the u.k. thats for sure, and if the netting aint from the far east I would put money on it its made in some cheap east european country... REGARDS...
  14. Spot on Crow,,, the standard of the netting here in the U.K. is crap,,,,, The far eastern countrys put a stop to the quality of U.K. made sheet netting... this country cannot compete regarding labour costs,, materials e.t.c. better to make your own ,, at least you now the quality of the net is sound....... REGARDS..........
  15. Try out your peg lenght a little shorter,, dont get me wrong,, the size of peg I stated suits my needs... KIND REGARDS......
  16. If your working tradditional net set ups I would reckomend taking your measurement of pegs from your inside of your armpit to the tips of your fingers,, the pegs should be no more than the thickness of your index finger IMO ,,, The pegs i cut are roughly about 29" in length,,, once you dress the pegs I.E. point them plus insert them into the soil,,, depending on the lay of the land I.E. soft/ hard pegging I find this rough measurement of peg lenghth suites each indiviseuall netter,, provinding the nets you are useing are yard for yard slack,,, I personally cannot comment on the quickset set up
  17. The reason for a double selvedge / thicker twined selvedge is simple......... the end meshes take a lot of friction of the running cords,,, hope this info is of help....... REGARDS......
  18. Cracking post MOLECATCHER,, class net made by a class netsman

  20. The best long net is the one you make yourself, none of this cheep imported stuff. Ok it takes time and efort and maybe cost a few quid over the odds but it worth it in the long run and they are much more easy to handle. this is a 100 yrd spun nylon one that im working on at the moment. when its finished it would have cost me about 60quid,but its going to be worth it . Posted a couple of spools down to you MOLEY it will help you out on your project
