  2. Why then did Ed hide the fact that Evergreen Pest Control is his buisness ? Why not just say to the Lads querie i sell quality nets at what i consider a reasonable price ! the arguement regarding hemp/nylon has been debated for donkeys years and will never go away thats why i mentioned the word pish, if you use hemp and the next man uses nylon whats the big deal each to there own, the material issue regarding which material is best will be with us till death do us part, some people find the material debate interesting i personaly find it boreing!! J.M.O. ... regards..
  3. I rekon that one of the supplyers have maybe imported a large consignment of purse nets from some part of the world and distributed them to the many fieldsport suppliers up and down the country, Why you may ask ? well i seen an advert from K.P.& S. NETS advertiseing purse nets, 10z & 6z , stateing that the rings are not braided on neatly. They have reduced there asking price by a considerable amount, it may be worthwhile buying some and braid the rings on correctly, what do you think ?
  4. A few months back i read a sporting magazine, think it was the gazette in the questions & answers section a young lad of 14 years asked Mr. Cook where to buy the best purse nets,, well the useuall pish was spewed about hemp/nylon length / depth,, then the good bit " you can contact this place who make and sell the best purse nets, there not cheap though £3.50 for a 3ft hemp purse net,, the contact is EVERGREEN PEST CONTROL " FEK ME ITS HIS OWN BUISSNESS :11: cheeky feker..
  5. To date up this end of the Country we are getting £5 a pound , not to bad, a helluva lot more than what you get for Salmon.

  20. 10z nets are 0.k. but be carefull,,, theres a lot of shit ones out there!! i.e. slip knotts and not stitched to the rings properly....
  21. I had a go with one a few years back at a major fishing exibition, a Norwegian Company had one of these Brother Gill Net sewing M/C on display, very impresive i must add, the M/C even had an alarm set up to let you nowe when a float was to be added to the headline, with one of these machines you can rig all types of nets in no time at all, any of the commercial gear suppliers here in the U.K. would probably supplie you with one, they aint cheap though but you may be able to pick up a second hand one through one of the gear suppliers.... REGARDS..
  22. The polyethelene twine that Molecatcher mentioned is actually 210/24... 8z nylon impregnated with Tar,, bloody horrible stuff for net makeing,, more suited for the rigging of Gill/Trammel nets...
  23. Traditional on end pins,, the new nets ive made for next season are lined with 2mm braided spun nylon lines, this type of lines are as near to the old cotton lines the netters of the past used but has the added advantage of being rot proof... How are you getting on regarding the netmaking Nik ? Regards..
