  1. Theres still plenty around Loch Fyne Mate,, both sides of the Loch, but if you can get yourself a boat theres hundreds for the picking on the islands of Minard Castle.. Regards.
  2. The twine being used is of a crossbraided multifilament twine,, its just a different type of material than the spun nylon/poly or the useual z twines that are more used at present,, because its braided and not a twisted twine it should pick up very little debri whilst out in the field..
  3. Its been made for a proffesional Rabbit Controler, the lenght is 118 yards of netting which will be set into a 50 yard set length.
  4. Hand made with green/brown twines of various twine sizes, spun nylon & spun polyester.

  12. Right Lads / Lassies, personaly ive been longnetting from the age off dare i say it !!14!!teen! not for profit but just to be taken under another Old stadgers wing,, .. I Learned at that early age to respect your Elders,, and to this day i still take heed of the past,, What iam getting at are the different methodes the netting game is recieving at prsent,, tradditional/preset!!!!!!!!! lets face it the old ways of the net will allways be practiced,, its this fastnet thing thats doing my head in !!!!!!. There is nothing hard about netmaking , dont get me wrong but reading books e.t.c. isnt the way forward!! the best way to learn this art (which imo is a skill ) is to try and get a Lad who is willing to teach you,, I have personally teached many a person this so called secret art ! not so much secret but different ways in the art of netmaking!! fek if i can do it anyone can!!! but at the end of the day always respect your tutor!! coz there is a helluva lot more to learn regarding knotts e.t.c..Regards a maker and user of nets..   15. Why then did Ed hide the fact that Evergreen Pest Control is his buisness ? Why not just say to the Lads querie i sell quality nets at what i consider a reasonable price ! the arguement regarding hemp/nylon has been debated for donkeys years and will never go away thats why i mentioned the word pish, if you use hemp and the next man uses nylon whats the big deal each to there own, the material issue regarding which material is best will be with us till death do us part, some people find the material debate interesting i personaly find it boreing!! I rekon that one of the supplyers have maybe imported a large consignment of purse nets from some part of the world and distributed them to the many fieldsport suppliers up and down the country, Why you may ask ? well i seen an advert from K.P.& S. NETS advertiseing purse nets, 10z & 6z , stateing that the rings are not braided on neatly. They have reduced there asking price by a considerable amount, it may be worthwhile buying some and braid the rings on correctly, what do you think ?

A few months back i read a sporting magazine, think it was the gazette in the questions & answers section a young lad of 14 years asked Mr. Cook where to buy the best purse nets,, well the useuall pish was spewed about hemp/nylon length / depth,, then the good bit " you can contact this place who make and sell the best purse nets, there not cheap though £3.50 for a 3ft hemp purse net,, the contact is EVERGREEN PEST CONTROL " FEK ME ITS HIS OWN BUISSNESS :11: cheeky feker..

  20. Theres different bylaws up and down the country but your better to keep within the law, contact your local Fisheries Office they will keep you right concerning the use of a net for white fish.
