  1. YOU will probably find that most of the hemp that is advertised is FLAX ...true hemp is getting more expensive... regarding polyester,,, well its finer than nylon,, less stretch than some nylons but it has a lesser breaking strain than a good quality nylon(a cheaper alternative to nylon)...

  11. Leave the trammels for the commercial fishermen!!!!! deadly for fish ,,££££ ..rabbits ,, well they have no place in my kit,,, feking hard enough cleaning a plain mesh never minding a trammel rigg (tri mesh),.
  12. Serriously though,, if you set your pegs at more than 5yrd intervals the top line will deffenetly SAG more , on more than one occasion ive had parts of my nets flat to the ground with the number of rabbits meshed in the nets...... nice pegging ground to.... the useuall discussion after the drop( how many did we miss) f**k if the rabbiting game was PISH EASY ther would be none left....quick set...tradditional set personaly who gives a f..k ther is no method better than the other!! its what methode suites the indeviduale NETTER ..

  14. Good on you, cracking photos, did the broken line happen on the last drop (bloody pain) ?
  15. Well DUCKWING as you are flying the tricolour ... contact swannet...BYRNE....CAVANNAGH...DUNMORE....f**k I could go on and on .... but it looks like we have one thing in common regarding mesh sizes f**k quoted the wrong reply......need to chuck the Bevy
  16. Spun Nylon comes in two varieties..... spun nylon is made up of loosely fibres .i.e. its an end use of fibres that is spun together the breaking strain of the twine is suspect( not a continiouse fibre).... Staple spun nylon is made of a continuose fibere which guarentees strenght and suppleness..... TORAY STAPLE SPUN NYLON in my opinion is the best twine on the market......EXCUSE THE SPELLING LADS.....REGARDS.

  18. Go for it Mate... Toray NYLON Twine makes really good nets .
  19. Mesh size...twine types... my old mentor favoured a web of fine hemp 4 1/2 x 12 md yard for yard slack his opinion that the 4 1/2" held the rabbits better I still have and use one of his nets to date and a very good net indeed accounted many a rabbit . I can remember the smile on his face when the sheet netting came on the scene his words f**k lad no more bursting your balls knitting webs ... no more worries about loseing a couple of 100yards to Keepers its that cheap you can replace your nets in a day or to at that time KNOX of Kilbirnie were big players in nylon sheet netting, the sheets cam
  20. Personally I prefer purse nets for ferreting .... prefering to leave the longnets for dark windy nights
  21. BIG FISH... you forgot to add that you only buy your quickset nets from the MAGNUM TRAP CO :11:
  22. better setting the net on 6 uprights ! keeps the lines taut. You never ever want the lines too taught rabbits will just bounce off The more net you can get between posts the better to a certain degree. so its the lines that hold the rabbits!!! shit I always thought the netting done that job!!....ah well back to the drawing board.
  23. Er, the point was that even on good winds those fibre-glass jobs have only got to move slightly in the basket to play a tune that will alert the close feeders, hazel is first choice for availability and it is also the quietest that i have found. I often work on my own and as hard as you try some sticks shift in the basket. get shot of the basket Good call Netrigger, but working on my own i will oft times carry and run three hundred yards at one go, using the old method of picking all the rubbish out with one hand whilst the other holds the net up in the air, not for me these days. If
