  1. i agree with pointer. i think rabbits & squirrels should be given 2 points for. squirrels are hard in an area where theres not a lot of people.
  2. well i have put QD studs on my s400 which i pretty sure has the same stock as the s510 and have had no problems at all
  3. there pretty much the same as s410s, just you can take them down. i've handled one and although they look like they are actually heavier than the s410 carbine (2.48 kg)with the TDR being 2.6kg. i think the s410 carbine has a higher shot per fill count as well. i suppose they would be perfect if you needed to walk through a public place to your permission and didnt have a car as the case is inconspicuos. other than that they have the tried and tested air arms magazine system which is good and come with an adjustable butt pad (something which i think all serious hunting rifles should come with a
  4. this is appauling! no matter how much you dislike any quarry speices they all deserve a quick and humane death. disgusting seeing those rats pulling themselves along the ground with open wounds in there backs.
  5. good shooting! beautiful jay, i leave them alone on ym shoot as there are plenty of songbirds and i dont feel any need to shoot them.
  6. if he gets a pcp he'll have to add anther £100 or so pounds on charging equipment. and for pest control in your garden you dont need a super accurate gun.
  7. with £250 you coulg cet yourself a nice springer. i would reccommend something from the HW range as these seem to have good build quality and i've seen groups preduced by them which would rival my air arms. hw77, hw95 and hw97k's are the most popular from what i've seen. dont go for co2 mate as in our varying climate we can have different temperature changes from day to day and this dosnt go down well with co2's as they lose power and increase in power with fluxes in temp.
  8. good shooting mate! you said as the light was fading which is ok but remember it's ilegal to shoot a pheasent once the sun has set.
  9. love it? can you tell me how you did it aas i would like to do the same to my own s400.
  10. great! im getting a camcorder for xmas so hopefully i'll get some scope cam shooting by the close date. can we have different groups like in HFT? 14 and under, under 16's? this should mean i'll have a better chance of winning something although i've heard kershan is a good shot
  11. roost shooting is pretty much 75% of my shooting sine i have so many big trees in my garden. i loft the occasional decoy as well.
  12. no i eat everything i shoot and even though there a pain to skin squirrels taste pretty good. thanks for the kind replies
  13. hi all, i know i havent done a write up for yonks but i have still been hunting. heres a few pics o've taken over the year. some have my s400 .177 fitted with a hawke reflex 3-10x44 and the other a mtc mamba lite 4-16x44. this pic demonstrates how effective full camo is. now if i only i hadnt taken off that glove..... more to come (if i can find them in the depths of my computer) ATB Aaron
  14. great paint job! did you not have to sand or do anything to the wood or metal work first?
  15. http://www.gunspares.co.uk/shopdisplayproducts.asp?page=9 out of stock i think?
  16. yeah i agree with hob&jill you really need to ask a more sensible price if you want buyers.
  17. it sound absurd but dont ansewr people who think shooting a boar with an air rfile is ok with nasty comments . he obviously is very new and the best thing to do is just explain. miles, assuming your 14 or over you can hunt with a air rfile borrowed from someone 21 years or older (i.e ur dad) unaccomponied edible quarry you can hunt with an airgun are rabbits, wood pigeons and squirrels. i would strongly recommend you join an airgun club near you and get some practice and help from experienced shooters before buying an airgun. bow hunting or spear hunting is a big no-no in the uk and you rea
  18. shoot them on sight. they're very destructive, they kill fish, birds and small mammals.they're probably the most destructive invasive speices we have here, apart from maybe japanese knotweed.
  19. would not get an s400 they are no good in the weather had mine 2 years and the rust on it is bad just had it done. took it to the game fair and was told wht do you want for cheep gun. thats what airarms told me want get one again ever im afraid this is just not looking after the gun properly mate. i cover the barrel and cylinder in a light film of oil after every shoot (like you should do with every gun) and have only ever had a few spes of rust once when i forgot to do it and came back after a week on holiday. i quickly fixed this with some steel wool. sorry mate but these guns are excel
  20. s400 welll within his price range. excellent handling, accurate and very good value for money. although i may be a little biased
  21. yuck ok. maybe i'll get a lower power springer. but just out of intrest, as i like light rifles and this is only 5.25lb, how many shots per charge do you get? the reason i was thinking about the stealth is because its synthetic and not nearly as pretty as my s400 so i wouldent be so worried about damaging it. but if its too powerful then maybe i'll think about an smk or something not too dear for max 15yrd shooting. what model would you recommend?
  22. hi all, just a quick one, how many shots per charge do you get off a gunpower stealth? also, does anyone have any good bad points about the gun? if i get one it will be a rat/feral chuck about gun. ATB Aaron.
