  4. personally i'd use an experienced working stud whippet . . one who is working well, have seen him work etc some workers are KC reg i believe mike browns are . . the smaller racing type whippet i wouldn't have near my dog, but thats just my opinion,,,,what breeding is your bitch? Annemarie
  5. sounds like me!! i had enough trouble with my ex, he hated me working the dogs, would have rathered i kept him company while he played computer games , couldn't see what all the fuss was about.. mind you he was nasty at his best -long story . . i eventually got sense and left him now tis just me my daughter, the dogs and ferrets, and all the time i wish to lamp, ferret and follow foxhounds, and to live how i wish what more could i want!!! IF i ever chose to risk everything by being with someone again i would love them to be into hunting but liking the mutts is a must!!
  6. i work my lurcher bitch and i went to a lurcher and terrier shows for the first time earlier this year, frankly tis nice to see that there are woman out there involved with working dogs and i'm not rare, having said i would never put chalk or anything else on the dog but remember they use chalk etc on horses inc the hunter classes its all about making the dog look as best as it can . . you would have complained even more if the dog that beat your was covered in mud and shite! but then you won rvery show in the country so who are we to talk . . .
  7. glad to hear he's okay!!! well done for having the patience with him, i done the same earlier this year with a ferret kit, people thought i was mad but the kit lived and has been re homed to a chicken farmer to do some rabbiting later on in the season
  8. Annemarie so are we going to get organised with the letter writing and PR? if we got half the UK members on here to write a letter to their MP , just think of the impetus we could generate! I (we) could even write a blanket letter and pin it on as many hunting forums as possible and get everyone to e-mail a copy to their MP's through the "write to them" website (the website for conatcting your MP).....it would then only take people a couple of minutes! we could also start another of those online e-petitions to number 10! I bet on a poll here very few will have e-mailed their M

  12. that does sound good i could have used that earlier this year when me dog was bitten by an adder and leg reacted very badly, pity of the distance mind,,but if i'm up that way it wont do any harm to let her give the dog a look. . thanks for showing us this sp you going midland this year? will see you there! Annemarie xxx

  15. i completly agree with you mate!! and your able to write a lot clearer then i ever will - english was never my strong point even now in the countrymans weekly whenever they chat of the hunting ban theres a photo of hounds in the background and like ye say there is just so much more effected then hounds, i'm sure if enough of us put our heads together that we'd be able to at least try and put the general public in the picture . .
  16. i wonder why they only took the jills . . .
  17. the point that was said in the beginning is that half way through reading a thread for it to be deleted would be annoying to anyone

  22. you can't expect him to sell the pups for thirty five pound! don't take the piss . . to a mate yea call it a pint or dinner but not to people you don't know! you'll want to ensure the pups going to a good home and not be passed around for the rest of its life . . to the seller, i do however think that 350 is a bit steep, tis a credit crunch going on at mo what work have the parents done? the mike brown lines are there, it is a decent cross and not incredibly commen too, i have a bedlington terrier/greyhound x whippet/greyhound which i paid 200 for the bitch and 150 for the dog, if the
  23. yea i agree, if you've grown up in a city, have parents who are indifferent about hunting then see these vids on you tube about how horrible we are killing these innocent animals . . their going to think of bambi and peter rabbit if thats all they've known . . then joining a group protecting said animals must be a feel good factor, which is human nature to crave,, i love providing a dinner where i've killed the meat and grew the veg for my daughter to eat,, its human nature to want to feel good about yourself . .
