  1. hmmmm i've always said there should be population control in the human race, maybe this is the way forward . .
  2. location and live indoors or out mate -just to help speed things along, and stunning dog, all the very best with the sale, i would offer but already have two youngsters to bring on this season, very nice dog though and thanks for being honest about her Annemarie xx
  3. i've said this before but lurchers are about the parents working ability, the owner of the dam -pups first human interaction, bloodlines, your training method and a large amount of luck thrown in!! a cross which works fine for one may be useless with somebody else, its the luck of the draw . . visit a lot of litters go on vibes ye get from the owners of the dogs bred from, meet as many relatives to the pups that you can, hear about the way the parents work, and then meet the pups and let your heart choose,, the cross isn't the key its the dogitself, if you want a small dog clearly don't g
  4. wow, your right that is really rare behaviour! and they meant business you could see the blood on one especially! sort of brought back to home that any wild animal can cause damadge no matter how beautiful . .
  5. what people seem to forget is that this is the only programme - to my knowledge anyways, that has pest control with dogs shone in a good light, instead of all of you saying their shit we should be rubbing our hands smilling, - i agree his lamping rabbits went poor etc and perhaps thay shouldn'd have killed a mouse, but anyone who works their dogs KNOWS that once the dog is in the zone and a movement of similar size happens OF COURSE the terrier killed it, he was in the zone! in regards to the fox cub being released . . its london so no livestock!! it was a healthy happy fox cub who went from
  6. no idea, but what kinda breeding is the dog in your profile?
  7. like the black kit,, all the best with them and i agree with the post above, be careful of ferrets and chicken wire as they can get out of it . . thanks for showing us thought, all the best Annemarie
  8. what a fantastic idea joe!! well done - be warned may have to steal your idea
  9. whats the reason for selling mate
  10. in all honesty i feel safer in the feilds, in pitch black, in the middle of the night then i do in the town with street lights at five in the evening! i grew up in north london and i hate street lamps, i really don't like the way how your eyes are constantly having to get used to light then dark . . and the simple fact of someone could see you but you can't see them sends me shudders,,, in the countryside very few times have i had a nervy moment and thats normally when i'm very very tired and mind starts to play tricks, end of the day you live once, if you do get attacked then you deal with i
  11. hiya everyone!! what with hunting season nearly here i'm struggling to control the excitment building up!! but some friends have said i can join in with the terrier work this season!! its something i've always read about and been curious in learning more . . next season or the one after when i know more about it, i may get meself a terrier for digging work, but for now i want to hear your opinions on various types of terriers, photos of your dogs and your favourite experiences with them in digging, ratting, bushing etc so feel free to show off your best dog, have a giggle abou
  12. meeting that at two in the morning out in the middle of no where is my idea of a nightmare!! MY DOGS WOULD HANDLE THAT PERFECTLY!! its the old hiding behinds mums legs trick . .
  13. clean the wound with salt water, was it a clean break or is there peices of snapped nail in the wound, if there is remove these, let the dog lick it as they have anti bacterial salivia, of course if the dog starts nibbling the wound then bandage it, keep a very close eye on the wound, if it has a clean scab then all is grand but any puss or odd colouring then theres an infection that needs flushing out from the inside out, antibiotics from the vets shall cure this, i do hope this helps, all the best with your dog mate, lurcher lass x x x
  14. i agree with the post above . . get a loan, use a credit card, borrow from a friend, hell even if you need to get to the vets let them treat your dog then f**k off out the door knowing they'll be sending you the bill,,thats how i payed for me ferret kit getting treatment, cost me 150 pound . . . this is a good example as to why we should insure our dogs or put some cash aside once a week . . i wouldn't bother with the rspca mate, their a bunch of idiots, if anything go to pdsa as i have a friend who has 3 dogs registered with them and they say nothing but praise, all the very best for yo
  15. the least the man should have done was admitted he was wrong and leave, rather then getting aggresive with you, at least you weren't hurt and it does sound like self defence, glad your okay mate, lurcher lass xxx
  16. i swapped two jills for two jills, kept one and gave the rest away, to think i could have made 640 pound
  17. personally i like bitches, but its a personal choice, if your taken to a bitch pup then go for it, i have two bitches permenantly and with work i can have up to 8 dogs in the house five of whom are bitches, as long as theres pecking order, routine and nothing to grumble about they'll be fine, HOWEVER each dog is different and just make sure whichever sex you get that they take to the lil pup,,,last thing you want is to have to seperate the new dog from the pup, is regards to should you wait,,to be honestonly you can answer this,, can you realistically put enough quality time into the lil borde
  18. been already sold mate . . pity i know
  19. i really hope the irish keep their hunting!!
  20. a trick i learnt a while ago was you knoe the show leads used on pet dogs, , , tighten the noose round your wrist and secure, loop the lead under the dogs collor and hold the handle on a couple of fingers, simply let go to release the dog, as the dog runs of the lead will slid through the collor and still be attached to your wrist with the dog on chase, LESS likely to lose the lead . . . xxx
  21. the only time i have found any probs is if you have more then one dog with you, and the other dog knocks the release, however i would be interested in peoples reply and advice, good thread btw lurcher lass x x x
