i took one that our local rescue had, a scrawny ,thin little jill. She has turned into a great worker, mad keen and sticks till they move or are dead.

i used a husqvarna chainsaw, the exhaust smoke all comes out of a half-inch hole so its easy to adapt. I welded a half-inch threaded nipple to this ,to which i can screw a half inch threaded pipe. This means its easy to take off if i want to use the saw as a saw again. No point adding extra oil, its the fumes from the burnt fuel that does the work more than any smoke.

The problem is not mesh size, which have increased, or days at sea, it is the discarding of dead fish. Mesh configuration is more important than size, towing harder can constrict larger meshes ,square mesh panels are more effective and many boats use them. The villains in this piece are not the fisherman but the EU and our government, what are these men supposed to do? Put yourself in their shoes, huge bank debt, crews with families to pay and a fisheries deprtment hell bent on bankrupting them with unworkable rules. Fishermen themselves must be included in the decision making process, it is

Land a lot of anything and the price will drop regardless of consumer demand. When our lobster season is in full swing we get 3.50 each for lobsters, the summer season ensures a good demand abroad for them but we don't benefit ,nor does the consumer. As for dumping coley to make room for cod, this is unlikely as it is availible quota not physical space that is an issue, coley are more likely to be dumped as they are a low demand, low price species and if quota has to be leased they become unviable. As regards fining offenders, licence suspension would be a much more effective deterrent, they wo

if discarding were stopped,it would likely be replaced with a days at sea system. If the big whitefish boats were given 180 days and allowed to land what they caught this has to be an improvement on constant fishing and throwing the bulk of the catch back. There would have to be a total ban on any discarding for this to work and to stop high grading as happens in the pelagic fisheries, ie.whole catches of previously caught fish being dumped to be replaced with a larger selection. Modern boats and methods are more efficient but that is the way of the world. I run charter trips in the summer

I fish commercially for a living and it would be good if this national disgrace did recieve more attention. Any system that forces the discarding of dead fish will never work and is totally unsuitable in a mixed fishery, nothing and nobody benefits from this travesty, The fact that this happens at sea and is pretty much invisible is the only reason it continues, imagine a similair scheme on land, rotting corpses strewn about, there would be uproar. My boat is equipped for all types of static/passive fishing but nowadays we really only pot for shellfish as we are never given any quota for anythin

the house next to me was bought to rent out and we have had all nationalities in it, some good, some bad but the lithuanians in it now are real scumbags, no respect for anything, constant noise but quick to shout about their rights. They are cowardly, slimy and no good and they is only one way to deal with them, which has been done, but pity anyone unable to stand up to them. So ,yes,i hate these immigrants.

we work a lot of woodland around a grousemoor, all fallen trees and branches. we ferret the rabbits out to the dogs, its just not suitable to net at all, although we do use a lot of dogs to nip everything quickly but i still have to look away at times.

I have an old greyhound bitch, retired now, that i ran for a good few years. She was too fast for her own good and would never give up,i always thought she would die running. She was murder for running on and her recall was poor, she had a deep hatred of foxes but led with her face. I grew up in a greyhound racing kennel and have seen a good few run over the years but greyhounds and lurchers are totally different beasts, each to their own, thats why lurchers are developed with different traits in them.

A chidhood, the autobiography of a place by harry crews, about growing up as sharecroppers in the 30/40s. Pimp by Iceberg slim, title self explanatory. No beast so fierce by edward bunker, crime autobiography head and shoulders above the usual drivel,he also played mr pink,or one of them anyway,in Resevoir Dogs.

Years ago I was done for night poaching at haddington court but the pigs told so many conflicting versions,ie. lies that we only got a £25 fine. Our lamps were all mysteriously broken when we got them back.

well the coalition is saying that social housing should only be availible to people up to a certain earnings level, but wether they act on it remains to be seen. Trouble is they still pay higher levels of housing benefit to those living in rented accomadation so unless more council properties are built i cant see an improvement.
