    There is a definite attitude that its somehow more manly to ''get rid'' or pts once they can't work as much but i believe it betrays a serious lack of character on the owners part,getting rid of what should be heading for a well earned retirement.     the 3 l is not a patch on the 3.1. They have several faults, the main one being that the injectors leak diesel into the oil. Some have had reconned engines by isuzu. Bad ones seem to be a lost cause, endless trouble. Check out the trooper owners website, its all on there.

    a friends dog recently badly cut his tendon, its been 3 weeks and the vet says he has to be kept quiet for another 6 weeks. This dog does'nt work.

    they rely on people not being able to fund action against them, thats why they get away with acting so unreasonably as most people could'nt afford the legal expertise needed to take the arseholes on.

    sherriff patterson is retired now romany, he gave me a £1000 fine for nine salmon scales in the eighties. He also jailed me and big keith, rip, in the nineties, can,t say i,ll miss him. His replacement is no better mind,drummond, i got a years ban, £500 fine and an extended test resit for a bit of a police chase one afternoon. Cant remember the last time anyone was at berwick court for dogs, certainly was,nt. whin.

    Never weighed them but our game dealer used to grade them into above or below seven pounds, obviously better money for the above sevens, a bit like grilse and salmon i suppose.

    there was plenty in the summer but by the time to start, numbers had crashed. The survivors of whatever that was are now getting myxi. There was a few rabbits set up on a bit of derelict land next to where i keep my boat, god knows where they came from or how they got there but they have even got myxi now.

    I believe the reason that meat is/was illegal in creels dates back to ww2, to stop boats using human consumption meat . I don't know if it still applies. Every fisherman has a different idea as to bait for lobsters and crabs, crabs are much fussier than lobsters and fresh bait is a must for them and we prefer fresh for lobster too, salted really is a last resort for us. Incidentally, we caught a marine crayfish while tanglenetting this autumn, the first ever in our area, i will try and put a pic up.     my whippet ,who is only small, caught a duck out lamping a few years ago.The ducks quacking drew a big dog fox straight to her so she dropped the duck and got stuck in, i slipped the deerhound and it was all over, the whippet had a big gash on her shoulder. From then on she hated foxes , anything with teeth to the degree that i am careful where i lamp her.

    My sister wants an air rifle after having a go of mine. I have a wheirauch 100 but i'm thinking something cheap for her to start. She wants it to shoot squirrels at my mothers stables and magpies etc, Any suggestions would be appreciated as i know nothing about air guns.
