  1. i have driven troopers for years but the newer 3.0 version is best avoided. You can get the 3.1 up to an r or s reg. They are reliable and you get about 25mpg which is about as good as any 4wd. Do check for chassis rot, especially around the rear end.
  2. Anyone know where is best for a lithium battery? 14a/h is £169 on ebay and 22a/h is £219, is that a good price?
  3. Hi all, i wonder if anyone could help me out? An old boy that lives near me has asked me if i could source a part for his gun as he has no internet. He has given me the following details, i believe it is a new cylinder that he wants, the details are as follows; weihrauch 15382 /PW 200 bam 0.83kg /0.175 L/0036-069/02 /Dtt 0036 ww2005-6. Can anyone tell me if these are the details needed and where would be best to get this part? Many thanks, shamus

never known anything like this summer, done the dogs endlessly, set traps, must have been ideal weather for them, everyone seems the same, cat and dog owners.
  6. i keep parrots including two greys. There are various theories to sexing birds, size, attraction to opposite sex owners, head shape etc but a dna test is the only sure way and the feathers have to be live ie.plucked from the bird ,not picked from the cage. I could'nt see a grey forgetting or forgiving whoever plucked them and they do hold a grudge. Why do you want to know the sex of the bird? It really does'nt matter except for breeding and tame pet birds rarely make good breeders.
  7. I have a whippet bitch ,and while not blind to her faults, get a lot of pleasure working this little dog. I feel that a lot of the he-men miss the point, that as we are meant to match quarry to the dog, and my whippet gives me a lot of sport on rabbits. While i don't expect her to do what my bull-x or deerhound do, no-one has told her she can't.
  8. my mates crank bolt snapped ,made a mess of the engine, not uncommon he was told
  9. redgills on a flying boom retrieved slowly back to the boat are very effective.
  10. i give them SA37 sometimes and plenty mackerel.
  11. there was a whippet class, up at the gundog end
  12. Fly, a pup i bred out of the best bitch i ever owned or probably will ever own. Fast as f**k but totally no strike, took her to a rabbit meshed graveyard where she tripped over the rabbits and still never struck. The first saluki cross i ever saw, my mate went to buy it, no trial as it had caught the six hares hanging in the shed earlier that day, £600 later and it never managed a hare .
  13. I have a 3 1/2 year old cooksland bitch, does anything put in front of her, a pleasure to own and work , clever, biddable and sensible. I run a bull cross as well and the deehound can match her for guts. I will try and put a pic up but not very good at this.
  14. I have one, retired now,she was a good enough dog, tackle anything, but she was murder for running on if she missed. She never , ever quit but was'nt too bad for injuries, would'nt really have another, no real advantage i can see but a few disadvantages.
  15. problem is i'm at work all week and havent got time to go and check if there is still a reading. Also i'm not keen to drag someone i have never met or so miles on what might well be a wild goose chase. I am still doubtfull that it is a collar or that it could even be dug out if it was. And i talk as someone who once dug 12 ft staraight down for one.
  16. its sandy soil ,full of small to medium rocks and layers of gravel. No electric fences nearby. I did consider a ferret but we bolted two rabbits and at least one killed down hole so doesnt seem likely. Absolutely no movement on the reading at all.
  17. i did think that but it's in a rockpile at the edge of the field, could'nt get down at all.
  18. While ferreting today, i was marking what i thought was my ferret, stock still at 16 feet, when he appeared at the other end of the warren. My first thought was that he'd dropped his collar but he had'nt. Tried my spare box and my mates and all gave the same reading, does anyone know what might cause this? No-one else is supposed to have ferreted here and there were no visible power cables or anything. My boxes and collars are mk3 and my mates is mk3m.
  19. I want a cross out of that lab, like its technique! Also nobody has mentioned the temperment of those scottish sherriffs, they are a different breed, one did me and my mate singlehanded.
  20. we had this sort of thing once,a farm we worked covered in foxes, daytime as well, wandering about.Mangy things,we believed they were dumped urban foxes, great sport, thanks to the bunny huggers
  21. Eel populations are in trouble in a lot of areas and a ban on commercial fishing is in the pipeline in a lot of areas. The Tweed used to be full of them but you don't see many now.
  22. I got an adult lakeland terrier off a keeper that was losing his job. He told me i would never break it to my g/f's cat but i did, admittedly with liberal doses of the alkathene pipe. Said terrier was as game as they come and was game for anything but he ended up sleeping with the cat. All my dogs, including a bull x and lakies live alongside my parrots and never touch them, as someone said they all consider each other pack members and one of my africn greys goes mental if anyone strange pets the dogs.
