  1. The word he's supposed to have said is often used many, many times in some rap songs. Now, if they can use it but we can't, is that not racism ?
  2. the rise in the buzzard population has had an effect on the hares here, being mainly pasture, leverets are an easy target, i once witnessed a buzzard attack a pair of hares in the corner of a field. coming in low over the hedge, it got a good kicking for its trouble but it didn't fly off after its kicking it just stood there at a distance for a minute or so,, maybe it thought they were rabbits but had either of them been very young or very old the outcome would have been different. Paulus , I'm only writing this because you boys banned Baw, LOL, but the buzzard IMO here in Ireland is the

  4. Respect indeed Neil, People have been breeding dogs for hunting for a 1,000 years and we still have to run dogs 4 or 5 times larger than a Hare to give it half a chance of catching one & even then most have to pick ground that suites the dog, cant beat mother nature lol. That's true Buster. You get the best blood that you can, you then put the best of rearing into that pup, then you put the best grub you can afford into that pup, then when it's old enough you put miles into walking it fit, you make sure it hasn't got as much as a flea on it's back and then you bring it out to kill a
  5. Buster, I blame a lot of todays hares habits on the upsurge in the buzzard population. Like you say, they live in woods and ditches and those that sit in the open often sit very, very tight. There's nothing I wouldn't believe of what a hares capable of. They're a highly adaptable creature that deserve nothing but the very highest respect.
  6. I think Bryan you'll find that these so called terrier men are fictional.
  7. So your telling me that I gave three pups to someone or some lads from North County Dublin who reared them 'till they were old enough to be entered but they never named these pups. And then they put them to sleep. I carefully pick where my pups go to. So tell me, Were all three pups chocolate ?
  8. No, you be on the heel line and ready and if your bitch puts the rabbit out and comes out correctly all is well. If she comes out hunting heel then correct her. Sounds like you need a whipper in, LOL.
  9. Get in front of her, stop her, get her back 'till she's correct. Once correct let her know and send her on.
  10. Saucy, in the last 20 years I've bred 2 chocolate pups. One is still in hunt service and the other is down in Cork. I think the one you're talking about is black. Do you know what a chocolate looks like ? Do you know anything about that terrier nowadays ? Now, in your first post on the subject you say "the ones I sent up North". "Ones" means more than one. I'm lost here. You are telling lies. And North Dublin is South of me so again you're full of bullshit. So tell me about these chocolate pups I sent up North. Also, did you wait 'till Mountain Man died before using his famous dogs p
  11. Sorry Saucy, I never sent a chocolate pup up North let alone several. Maybe you just make up such facts, same as you use another mans dog for your avatar ????
  12. LMAO, Bryan keeping chocolates. Now that's funny. If Bryan took on a chocolate pup he dye it black or red before his mates seen it. How about it Bryan, do you want a good chocolate pup ?
  13. Enjoyed those. They must cover nearly every aspect of that way of life.
  14. I have the pleasure of watching 20 or 30 of them every morning feeding my fowl. I mix a soaked dog biscuit through the grain and it seems to be that they want. Beautiful birds. I never liked to see them in flights as they never seemed to show themselves but you JD seem to have the knack.
  15. I would disagree that some parts of the world would have better workers than Britain and Ireland, and I'll explain why I think so ? In recent years a lot of so called terrier men have made small fortunes sending terriers to certain parts of the world that would just not be entertained here in Ireland and Britain by those who NEED a good worker. Some of these terriers have gone on to make big names for themselves and their owners and of course folk start sending back to their breeder for pups. I kid you not, but here in Ireland a few years ago there were pups being sold for 100 to 300 euro a
  16. IMO it's as good an article that's ever been written about a terrierman. It's in issue 219 and every novice should read it. Regarding the blood of his terriers ? It's in a lot more yards than lads think, although maybe not in white terriers.
  17. That would be one for the experts ie. Pete. But does the Tree Creeper not creep, LOL. I was once told that the Wagtail is the smallest bird that walks and I've yet to see or think of one smaller. One of my favourites too, although I prefer the Grey to the Pied.
  18. Pete, you know your birds. Is it true that the Wagtail is the smallest bird that walks ?
  19. A lot of fruit seeds including apple contain small amounts of arsenic but you'd have to eat a lot of seeds to poison yourself. I'm not sure how much you'd have to give a dog to harm them but I do know that in the Autumn fruit can make up a large part of a foxes diet. Hence the blue scats. Never heard of banana being fed to dogs though, interesting.
  20. Feck Crufts, but I see someone mentioned agility. A little of topic but I remember a few years ago in the States there was a weight pulling competition and in the lower weight a patterdale won. But was the best puller of the day compared to all weights. Can anyone find a link ???
  21. Always makes me laugh when I see someone walking along a busy road on a 6 foot wide path with the dog on a lead 20 foot in front of them. I supposed if the dog does get squashed the extendable lead would make retrieving the body much easier.
