Dunno what game im thinking of then did they not knock Arsenal out the champions league this year....anyway....Barcelona might be weak to pacey attacks but you got to get the ball off them first.....i think it will be a great game dont get me wrong, just in my book everything Man Utd do very well....Barcelona do that much better....i think they will just move the ball too quickly for Utd,s midfield....wouldnt be surprised if its a high scoring game because Utd can and probably will score goals.....again though i just think Barcelona will score more and better.

RIP the ol boy.....apparently he had previously said he had absolutely no regrets about any part of his life and had led what he considered to be the perfect and complete life. What a lovely thing to be able to say.

I hate to say it because id like an English club to win it...but ive got an idea Utd might get walloped...you cant always compare but Arsenal are as near to Barcelona style wise in England and look how Utd struggled the other day.Id expect Utd to try to out football Barcelona just like Arsenal tried to and lost 3 nil or whatever it was....I can see Scholes and Giggs getting outworked in midfield Barcelona just have so much speed of thought....I reckon they could go down 3 maybe 4-1....hopefully not and best of luck to them....there just up against a team head and shoulders above anyone at this

Thats right Henry was a left handed person...wrote with his left hand, kicked with his left foot etc...not many people know but he was actually a promising goalkeeper...played for London boys and was on the books of Charlton Fc before turning to boxing. In todays times Henry would have probably gone a lot further than he did, travelling to America was a no no back then due to the taxes they put on and the agents fees, etc etc....he would also have had surgery meaning he wouldnt have had so many fights stopped on cuts. His brother George suffered exactly the same they just had those sharp features

In my opinion the first 10 rounds of the fight were fairly even Cooper probably just shaded most of them but the last 5 Coopers strength and relentless style took him over the finish line....thats just my opinion but its an opinion shared by most.Henry Cooper for a long time held a grudge against referee Harry Gibbs,he felt Gibbs had succumbed to boxing politics of the time....though he did eventually shake his hand not long before Gibbs died. The comments he made were about the out of shape fighters of the ,s....the Tubbs,Witherspoon,Tate era.....he also said the same of Danny Williams but o

Well done that man im glad someone noticed it !.....Id have plenty to say about Bin Laden but im f****d if im giving that shitbag any thought at a time when 2 men of such different standards have died.

You sound like a real class act !
-
Yes your right Bird,Henrys manager Jim Wicks was a very protective kind of manager he always avoided what he called " the big guys " like Sonny Liston... he felt Henry would struggle with their sheer size.Henry himself always said his best fighting weight was 13 st 7 lb ( 189 lb )but very often he was only just over 13 stone as back then they weighed in on the morning of the fight. He gave Ali close to a stone in both fights. I believe his heaviest ever was the last fight of his career with Bugner where he weighed around 212 lb....and what a travesty that fight was ! Just to add...he was a

She was yes,Henry has 2 sons both Italian names i forget what they are now,but his brother George was a massive influence,a decent boxer in his own right but pretty much gave up his own career to work Henrys corner, they were very close so it was understandable how he sadly fell apart....i dont think it would be too dramatic to say he died of a broken heart. I vaguely remember being a tiny kid on my old dads shoulders at Highbury for the second Ali fight where Henry again got cut to ribbons.....still got the original ticket and program here.....He was a big favorite of his generation he conduc

So from a very funny show and a very funny man.....the only thing that strikes a chord with you is some deep seated analysis of the whole irony to the show ....f**k me i bet your fun to go out on the beer with you sound a right bundle of laughs !!
-
And thats your contribution on a rip thread......prick ! RIP " whispering " Ted Lowe.

The kid Trump reminds me of a young Jimmy White....he commits fully to those long shots and certainly has great technique....even if he is 10-7 up overnight id still be surprised if he beats Higgins......Higgins is so good tactically and been there so many times before, certainly one for the future Trump.

Sadly it wasnt surprising,Henry went steadily downhill these last few years.....having lost his wife a few years ago and his twin brother George last year he just kind of gave up on life. You could always guarentee seeing him at the London ex boxers shows and meetings.....but not the last few years unfortunately.Very decent and sincere man never got above himself, always very helpful and a true gentleman. Most folk will remember him for knocking Clay/Ali down but hopefully he will be remembered for a far bigger accomplishment....the only man ever to win 3 Lonsdale belts outright. Rest in peac

Do you mean meant to as in had to and if you didnt you was wrong ?....Because believe it or not, despite the irony of the topic and the show, many people DO believe in much of what he said....like anything else thats just called having an opinion.

Cant argue with the plus points.....but do they outweigh the negatives,im not so sure..... Communities have broken down, personal relationships no longer have the same value,as a nation we have lost our identity and discipline, youngsters have different values etc etc..... I guess its a pint glass half full or half empty situation.....personally i like the simple things in life hence i prefer the less complicated times of years ago....but theres no denying some things have improved

For crying out loud some of you lads take shit too serious.... It was a comedy show, its supposed to make you laugh thats all....if you laughed the show was for you if you didnt laugh it wasnt for you.....why the deep in depth analysis !!! Are you going to criticise Porridge because it was men laughing in prison and your only supposed to be punished in prison so they shouldnt be laughing.....f*****g get a grip of yourselves !

Its very rare i disagree with you AFT as you speak sense.....on this occasion i cant agree with you.I wouldnt say im bitter or miserable as i enjoy life and accept that times change.......but few things have changed for the better, and personally i do think it was great back then. I think each generation believes their days were the best days i understand that.....but i fail to see what is better in todays times that outweigh yesterdays.Thats not bitter and miserable thats just being honest. But i guess it depends on the individual.

Dont tell me,this clip was the first time you have ever seen or heard of Alf Garnet ?....because if its not then why even click on it....not too bright that !

" He aint even a normal darkie....he,s a bleedin poofter darkie " ......say what you see,you gotta love it

Got away with a 5.5 million fine and massive payout to Sheff Utd ....if that prick Warnock gets away with this after the moaning he did back then it will be a farce !.....The FA said that would never happen again and put in a 10 - 15 point deduction rather than a financial penalty....lets hope QPR will still be in with a shout of a play off place Its also worth remembering the West Ham/Tevez thing was for around 10 games.....QPR have done it for the whole season !
-
Come on you Irons ! ...Good old Alf,ive long been a fan mostly because listening to him is like listening to what i remember of my ol grandad back years ago......as a kid i would sit mesmerised as he would go on about " them darkies " ,funny times.

im half a div mate i aint got the brains for all that carry on....i think if the BNP is to ever move on from what it is now the party as a whole needs some very clever, educated members who know the law and can use it....personally i think Griffin has been fine over the years, but he,s not the future of the party.
