  1. I know your a fan Jasper but i dont think even Utd,s most loyal fan would agree with that.....Do you really think the only way Barcelona can win is by cheating or penalties.....they are without doubt the better football team and are clear favorites to win. I think Utd can win and hope they do anything can happen in a one off match....i just heard Teddy Sherringham give an interview saying he gives them 10% chance, personally i think they have a slightly higher chance, but they are still big underdogs whatever way you look at it. Really looking forward to it anyway, cant believe im getting all h
  2. I know the picture your on about it was on the front of Ed Reids book canine gladiators of old & modern times....im sure someone will have the book and be able to put the picture up for you. I always thought the don mayfield picture with swig would make a nice tattoo it kind of captures the essence of what the dogs are about....well it does for me anyway ....im no good a posting pictures but again,im sure someone could do it.
  3. Add Carrick,Johnson,Terry,Defoe, all the Ferdinand boys from the same generation to that and i reckon we might be pushing for Europe ....still no point looking back we got the championship to look forward to......and possibly Sam Allardyce
  4. Think it might be a high scoring game maybe 4-2 to Barcelona.....hope im wrong and its a boring 1 nil win for Utd.
  5. Scarey innit .....i know i said an Englishman, but preferably one that will play a bit of football.
  6. Im making assumptions based on what most of your own people feel ...what are your assumptions that the lower English league is shit based on ?....no actually dont answer, the fact you think a neutral doesnt want to watch quality football kind of explains enough ... Sky tv and tv rights in general must have it all wrong.....perhaps they should focus on Aldershot v Burton Albion instead of Man Utd v Barcelona....i mean who wants to watch good football right ! Yes of course mine is only an opinion.....but id like to think its an opinion based on common sense....whats your based on.
  7. If he was that hot he wouldnt have to lumber himself with a joe dakie he,d get into a nice white boy....wheres that nancy Colin gone these days.
  8. I know there only actors but id like to snap his neck that Christian.....he must be a ginger in real life surely to play the part as well as he does....he makes me feel like stamping my foot through the telly.
  9. This running flat out stuff sounds good......but the reality is nobody i dont care how fit you are can run flat out for much more than 1 minute !.....which equates to about a quarter of a mile at a push.....its physically impossible.
  10. No he started at Utd and came to West Ham not long before the final in 1980.......usually its the other way round they nick our players I might be wrong but i think he was at Utd when they was a second division side ...takes some believing dont it.
  11. Absolutely right.... i remember the 75 final there were street parties before and after the game over the whole weekend infact, all you could see for miles was claret and blue round our way....kids vs dads matches between the lamp posts....fa cup final day was a special day for young boys even if your team wasnt in it youd still pretend you was the winning goalscorer
  12. Boxing booths were not always associated with fairgrounds.....right up till the late 70,s there were travelling booths at places like Wanstead Flats and Deptford in London....they were all quite well organised at one point but around the mid 50,s the British Boxing Board of Control stated they would strip pro boxers of their licence if they took part in them......that pretty much brought about their decline. Before that many fighters like Jimmy Wilde,Benny Lynch, the Turpins,Freddie Mills had all done a bit in the booths. As kids we would be over Wanstead Flats queueing up like idiots till the
  13. I know what you mean.....the glory hunter tickets you mean not the genuine week to week fans....but dont you think that will actually just make it worse....for arguments sake lets say Hamilton Accies get 2500 fans through the door at the moment....Celtic and Rangers are playing Man Utd/Arsenal/Chelsea every week dont you think that might cost Hamilton another 500 fans who want to watch " the big clubs in the big league " from up the road ( Celtic/Rangers )...sorry if my geography is way off but you get my point. I think the big worry if it was to happen is the sheer amount of people who go
  14. I dont really understand all the ins and outs of it but its not hard to see theres something dodgy going on there so hopefully they can get to the bottom of it and get rid of the ol b*****d. From an English point of view this not voting lark all seems a bit after the horse has bolted to me.....if we knew they were corrupt we should have said something at the time not waited to see if we got the world cup then when we didnt, start moaning about it.
  15. Good man....Im not sure it would make it more competetive.......I,ll nail my colours to the mast and say i would like to have Celtic and Rangers down here but not the others,i just dont see what the others could bring to the party.....Celtic/Rangers are big football clubs with big followings which theres no reason to suggest wont continue if they was down here.....the rest of the clubs get poor attendancies in their own country so their hardly going to get more down here.....When you see attendancies of 4/5/6/7000 at clubs directly behind the big two,at grounds where i dont imagine its anywher
  16. Its a good theory Stan....but whats in it for English clubs, its still really all just to accomodate Scottish football into the premier league i think theres got to be some sort of incentive for English clubs as well.....what that is i dont know. In theory St Mirren or Hamilton etc could get into the English Premier league on merit, which is fine and fair.....but then whats fair about English clubs taking 300 supporters up to an away fixture in Scotland when they could have taken 3000 to an away fixture in England. Dont get me wrong im all for it.....but it would certainly be a tricky little v
  17. How do i jump all over the place...Baw put some points to me and i answered them, simple Thats your opinion and thats fine....some folk prefer a plate of mushy peas to a plate of chicken and rice that dont mean to say mushy peas are a better quality food .....The reality is mate its all about levels, the English league is a higher level than the Scottish, thats just the way it is.....common sense would tell you that the mid table of the English would be a higher level than the mid table of the Scottish....lower the same......so for neutrals who just like to watch quality football, like mys
  18. I couldnt really add anything to what Malt said Do kids these days pretend to be lifting the FA cup in the school playground,no they pretend its the champions league trophy......i accept times move on and the game grows.....just for us smaller clubs they were important times that will be swallowed up and forgotten about in todays times in terms of achievement.
  19. You was right the first time Proper West Ham family the Allens....all of them went through the club from dad Les to Martin Allen,Bradley Allen,Clive Allen.....what an occasion for a 17 year old back when the FA Cup meant something.
  20. Runforyourlife...good luck to ya son, hope your going back up the m1 with as much enthusiasm as your coming down with. ....cant see a Utd win myself but in a 1 off game anything can happen.
  21. oh i forgot about you, hows that other thread going i,ll have a butchers in a minute.....its only tongue in cheek son dont get too charged up ...mind you i do find them big gingers with the freckles and hairy warts a bit intimidating...........the men can be a bit scarey as well No you got me there Baw,been some good Scottish managers thats for sure, just shows.....Scots do know the game just cant play it.
  22. Not sure id call it a diving header, the ball kind of hit his head and he fell over ....1980 against Arsenal.....still the last time a team from outside the top flight of English football has ever won the fa cup Dont forget Alvin Martin,Ray Stewart,Geoff Pike,Stuart Pearson.....and of course 17 year old Paul Allen the youngest ever player to come on in a cup final, clean through on goal only to be wiped out by a big dozey ginger jock ! They were the days.
  23. Nah bollocks to that i dont want a ginger jock........its gotta be an Englishman simple as that.
  24. ..Well i didnt do bad,id like to see you name 4 West Ham players from 79 without looking it up ....mind you we was in the second division then
