You keep making references to pre meditated crimes commited by policemen Mackem......thats not what this was and is a completely different thing.....this was not a pre meditated criminal act it was a mistake in the workplace,accident....call it what you will.... My point was,if you make yourself busy with plod it dont always work out well.....im certainly nobody to come down on the side of police ive had my share of shit with them but i accept when things dont go your way you take it on the chin like a proper chap should.......ok this fella didnt deserve to die thats not the issue, but the soo

Call me old fashioned but id be much more forgiving of coppers who get stuck in and get it wrong than id be of coppers who dont get stuck in at all or plain freeze.....i made reference earlier to the Hillsborough disaster, that was literally hundreds of coppers who all got it wrong resulting in the deaths of 96 innocent and decent people.....that was police getting it wrong on a higher level than your regular bobby on the street.....yet it was brushed under the carpet... This here is 1 copper who got it wrong with the death of 1 man at street level not higher up the plod chain..........acciden

Likewise when a man turns up at a riot he knows what he is getting into and has to accept police are going to be a touch more rough than normal and rightly so..........if you dont accept that dont go to a riot or be anywhere in the vicinity of one.

You know what im saying though mate......im talking about a human mistake or error of judgement within a mans job ( a very difficult job )........not a pre meditated criminal act..............how do you get punished for a mistake you make while at work, prison ? ( not you personally you understand )..............I say again, society grants police the authority to make judgement calls on situations we are not trained to do.....if its a genuine mistake i dont feel you can cart them off to prison.......that situation was a highly charged volatile atmosphere and the plod was too heavy handed granted

Sad.....when it comes to working dogs a saying i like when we lose them young is......" better to die young having lived a full life than die old having never lived at all "....RIP

Its nothing really to do with what type of character the man was it makes no odds.....i have no reason to be a fan of plod but i accept they have a tough job and we as untrained everyday society grant the police a certain amount of authority to make judgement on situations we arent trained for......with that we have to accept they wont always get it right,we cant start sending them off to prison everytime they get it wrong........ I suppose it could be said if you dont get yourself into sticky situations you dont have any dealings with them.......if you do then you have to accept they are jus

Try telling that to the families of the 96 people killed at Hillsborough......in a week when the House of commons has eventually been pushed into that debate it strikes me as ironic that 1 policeman has been brought to task for his actions resulting in the death of 1 person in a demonstration/riot......when the actions of hundreds of police officers has been brushed under the carpet for over 20 years in the deaths of 96 people at a football match ....unbelievable !

What does it matter if a Rottweilers got a tail or not if its to protect your home.....the fact a dog might be " stunning " as you say is not going to impress a potential burglar. Id say invest in a decent security system, then go out and get a dog you think looks nice..................everyones a winner

London away days, what like Fulham,Qpr and Palace .......I still speak with lads who were around back then.....theres even a couple on here !...and they all say the same....its nothing like it used to be.... A life ban for me might as well be a life sentance.....and plenty of others feel the same hence its mostly a kids thing now.....plod have always thought they won when in reality folk just stopped doing it when they started dishing out bans....to be honest i find it all totally embarrassing now looking back.

Was gutted for Wales.....they played with a lot of spirit.....i dont know much about rugby so cant really comment on the tackle/sending off......but just the same as football i believe in any big important match like that the referee should really try and keep all the players on the pitch wherever possible......it can and usually does spoil a game when a team go,s a man short expecially early on like that, and when its a dubious decision he really should of give the lad the benefit of the doubt to encourage a good game when its the World Cup semi final. Shame but im sure they will come again b

Why do you think West Ham were asked to do a documentary ?...because they were the most infamous football hooligans in the country thats why The big rivalries were not necessarily the local rivalries apart from West Ham/Millwall and Wolves/West Brom.......West Ham had a massive rivalry with Cardiff,Stoke,Notts Forest,Pompey,Leeds,Birmingham who all had good firms and a big following....and of course they all had big rivalries with each other......West Ham and Millwall never had big numbers but still led the way and were the most reknowned firms in England, that was recognised up and down the c

Probably no time soon no....but the human race is getting bigger, simple !......70/80 years ago fighters like Carnera and Willard were seen as freaks of nature and they were 6ft 5..........6ft 5 fighters like Bowe or Lewis were the norm 20 years ago.........today 6ft 8 heavyweights is not that unusual......ive felt for a number of years there needs to be a super heavyweight division, maybe at 235 lb............anything over 200lb is a heavyweight yet very few heayweights are under the 220 region.....its too much variation the sport needs to make adjustments to compensate for the adjustments in t

Judge im going on what ive seen not what ive heard....ive been to loads of derby games over the years, admittedly i havent been to a Sheffield one for about 10 years but it was nothing special then,i remember being in the Leppings Lane end back in the ,s it was nothing compared to Wolves/West Brom ......most of todays rivalries stem in some form or another back to the hooligan stuff from the 70,s and ,s....West Ham/Millwall was always massive,Wolves/West Brom,Birmingham/Villa,Sothampton/Pompey,Leeds/Man U,even Ipswich/Norwich were all far bigger more intense rivalries than the Sheffield clubs..
-
Get yourself down to a West Ham - Millwall game ! The most passionate rivalries are when its about more than just football......the area rivalry between West Ham/Millwall is as bigger factor as the football itself ......likewise Wolves/West Brom,Southampton/Pompey and of course Rangers/Celtic are all far bigger derby games than Sheffield Utd/Wednesday. For me the biggest derby game in British football on the pitch is still Liverpool - Man Utd.....its got everything, huge clubs, great football teams, massive support and massive history....

Incidentally i stayed in Haverfordwest but when i said a nice part of the world i was actually referring to Tenby which if im not wrong is where that race took place......not that i saw much wrong with Haverfordwest....beats Canning Town thats for sure

Allow dogs to do what they were bred for and love to do......and you face jail and life bans. Allow dogs to die a slow painful death through your own neglect and you get a little 3 year ban...............worthy sentance my arse !

You must have seen Holyfield as a cruiserweight.....i followed his career real close and he never fought in the heavyweight division the way he fought the likes of Dwight Qawi or Tillman in the cruiserweight division his style completely changed overnight id say he was a little past his best when he fought Bowe,a good bit past his best when he fought Tyson, washed up when he fought Lewis............and a dead man walking over recent years sadly. Hopkins is a different man........just like we cant generalise on size we cant generalise on age either.
-
Now your just taking things to extremes.....theres 4 lb difference between most divisions .........in the heavyweight division there can be 4 stone ! If weight was a massive issue in a prizefight Haye would have never been allowed to fight Valuev.....infact there would be no heavyweight division at all !
-
Best not tell the ol lurchers and terriers that one eh Tell that to the many smaller competitors human and animal who have outgamed, outworked and out talented their bigger opponents......
