My mrs is exactly the same mate......im always saying to her " no way have you read every word on every page "..............i bought her one some time ago she hated it,especially on holiday where the suns constantly shining on it.......she also prefers what she calls " the feel and smell of a good boook " but then your mrs probably aint as scatty as mine so hopefully it wont be money down the toilet.

Clearly youve never been to birmingham or london then lol.Also plenty of chinese are married to british white people I'm sure there are,but i've never seen a chinese man with another race of girlfriend/wife Must admit ive no real problem with the chinks they keep themself to themself........by and large they stick to their own Blans right you dont see many chinese going outside their own people certainly not compared to other races.......they dress normal,try to speak our language and like the English traditions footie and a bet etc.....forced to share our country id rather share it

I agree with this......sometimes the proof is in the pudding....some of the fittest most well looked after no expense spared dogs ive ever seen grew up on and lived on chain set up yards,often with multiple dogs.........having a dog on a chain is no excuse for letting shit build up or not socialising a dog thats just bad animal husbandry regardless where they are kept.....id rather a well kept dog on a chain than a poorly kept dog in the house.......the chain,likewise the run,is merely to stop the dog running away i fail to see how it makes a dog more aggressive unless the dog is neglected or

Yep i get what your saying mate and your right,especially the example about Special Forces etc that was a good one .......but i personally dont class dedication/drive as a skill......a skill is something that cant be taught you just have a natural talent for something...you may go your whole life without ever even knowing you have it,but its there.......dedication/drive if its there will usually surface in some other form it dont have to be sport some folk are just born naturally more driven than others.......drive with no skill is useless if your in a sport that requires skill........drive w

The thing is mate,your talking about traits and qualities within athletes who have already reached the top.......Roy Keane didnt reach the the very top of his sport by lacking in any of the qualities we,ve mentioned........this is my point about how a sport like football is far " more of a sport " ( for want of a better saying).......than cycling......Roy Keane had bundles of skill/talent..............he also had bundles of drive,commitment and energy................the lad Cavendish had every bit the drive,commitment and energy Roy Keane had......but what skills does he have in a sport that d

Just out of interest....Jones actually beat Kirkland Laing twice the first fight at Wembley Arena wasnt as convincing as the second but he was still somebody Laing just couldnt get past......Kirkland Laing was one of those misfit types you just want to get by the scruff of the neck and demand he dedicates himself.....although he was from Nottingham way he was a Duff/Lawless fighter so trained most of his career out of the Royal Oak he wasnt a well liked man,not because of his arrogance or his general weirdness....simply because he was so damn good !!.....i remember people like Lloyd Honeyghan

All this thing about a dog on a chain will be more aggressive blah blah blah.....what nonsense......ive kept dogs on chains,in runs and on cable lines.....cable lines i always found best followed by chains then runs last......a dog on a chain will have far more room,can see the world without looking through bars,and will feel far more close to you than being behind the door so to speak......think how many times you walk near or past your dog over the course of a day your much more likely to have a quick little pet or play about with your dog on the end of a chain than you are having to open a

When you have fought 200 fights over a 25 year career against the absolute best from the generations often fighting 2 or 3 fights per month........you tend to lose the odd fight. Its always difficult comparing the different eras,i love speaking to the ol boys who were around during that era and remember Robinson.....ive never heard any of them say Robinson wasnt the best middleweight of all time.

Theoretically Tomo yes....but as we know it doesnt work out like that.......genetically west african blacks tend to dominate in sprinting....east african blacks tend to dominate in long distance running..................likewise with something like weightlifting being dominated by whites.......so to an extent sport is dictated by genetics......but what im getting at with cycling,there is no real genetic reason or skills/talent reason why virtually anyone with the right mindset could not reach the top........ronnie o sullivan trains very little yet continues to be one of the best snooker player

Really.........i sometimes think mummy didnt give you enough attention as a youngster........but im not rude about it am i I say again this " if you compete against somebody its a sport " theory is complete nonsense......i used to have throw the ball in the bucket competitions with my son,thats not a sport either......

Exactly !!......so if thats what can be achieved with little natural skill/talent in sport that requires skill/talent......think how far that same work rate and practise could take somebody in a sport that doesnt require any ..................last i looked riding a bike doesnt require any real skills as such......i accept theres a lot more to it than just riding a bike the way a kid rides round the park.......but its still riding a bike,just quickly and for a long time....................i fail to see the natural born talent thats required to be a top cyclist that doesnt come under the banner

Tomo football,rugby,cricket etc etc is played on grass because it gives the truest run of a ball/can be played at the highest level/just plain sensible...............to play any of these sports on a beech for any reason other than having a laugh is pointless in my opinion......same go,s for volleyball......the only difference sand makes is a bit of a hindrance under foot i just cant see the point of it as a competetive sport if its exactly the same sport thats played on a hard court. Plenty of younsters in certain countries grow up playing footie on beeches,they dont make an olympic sport of

You really think Hagler won that fight Tomo......must have had the conversation a hundred times over the years ive never met more than a handful of folk who thought Hagler won......if i remember right i had Leonard winning 9 rounds to 3...or maybe 8 to 4 i forget now......a clear win anyway.......we all see fights different though

Only need to look at the state of the fat b*****d dogs he had and listen to the story his trainer told about the labrador to understand the type Mcllellen was as regards dogs.....similar to the dopey little pakis hanging about on council estates chucking 2 dogs together and then calling it dog matching !

You gotta respect Froch he,s a fighter from the heart i love fighters who put it on the line and dont fear a loss........still needs to take it one step at a time though if he loses the first one the rest will come to nothing........but i admire his attitude to the game.

Now theres something i couldnt disagree on.....at one stage it looked like Hagler would never get past the top contender stage .....ripped off in his first title challenge,craftily crept up on by Leonard............ wouldnt say he was the best middleweight of all time though id put Carlos Monzon and Ray Robinson way out in front of Hagler.

Because without a peak conditioned million pound horse......you dont have a sport.............likewise motor racing,without a state of the art million pound car you dont have a sport...... Whereas anyone with a bat and a ball......a football.....2 boxing gloves.....a rugby ball etc etc you still have a sport in its purest form. Its like this business with goal line technology in footie,i dont want it......i agree with uefa in that sport should be the same at every level or you just dilute the sport itself.... Im not saying im right it just suits my way of thinking

They,re all out of my hands anyway now i handed them down to my son a few years back............the arse of it is he dont realise the sentimental value they hold they,re just something stuck away with the promise he,ll hand them down to his kids. Have you tried the proper boxing memorabilia shops or auctions i know you would have to pay a bit more but could be worth a try if your just collecting them and dont need to make a profit as such.

I feel your pain sir........the " save York Hall " petition went on a long time and only by the skin of our teeth is it still there........many fighters over the years who have fought in the big worldwide venues of Vegas and suchlike have said it still dont compare to the atmosphere on a Thursday night in the York Hall. Seems a hard task holding onto traditions these days sadly.
