Perfectly put Malt i totally agree .....we know even from our dogs.....a highly tuned super conditioned dog is quite a delicate little athlete.....a big lazy v8 engine is bullet proof,start f****n with the finer tuning and theres more to go wrong.........highly tuned athletes bodies are not robust......do you sacrifice reliability for performance,you just cant do it in todays top level sport.

I,ll bow down on the Lisbon Lions thing as id be talking about a side i have no real knowledge of.......the simple point i was trying to make being the nature of competetive sport dictates very few athletes/teams from " yesterday " would beat their equivalents today.........in any sport.......that doesnt stop them being greats of their era. We was speaking to some Italians after the game they said our game ( England ) is in exactly the same position their game was in back in the ,s and i think they spoke a lot of sense......we all remember great British players like Trevor Francis,Souness,Liam Brady,Platt,Mcmanaman,Gazza all going out to Italian clubs.....then the likes of Lineker,Hughes etc going to Spain.........its no different now only the place to be is England...................after a while Italian clubs were not only bringing over the great foreign players but the average ones too........and thats what we are doing now in

Like i said we can all accept being beaten by a better team or basic human errors all players make mistakes....................but lack of effort should never be tolerated i dont care what level your competing at but ESPECIALLY at " professional " level......and so yes that most definately should be booed......................likewise if a player cannot do the basic things that made him a professional footballer in the first place that should not be lightly brushed aside either...... Ian Wright has a great outlook to the game thats right.....also Stan Collymore talks a lot of sense i remember after the World Cup in South Africa when he got into trouble over that James Corden character he said exactly what myself and a few pals had been saying for ages......Nobody is saying fans of small clubs expect to win anything but lack of effort and ridiculously poor mistakes is unacceptable......We are critisized at West Ham for turning on our own players....its not turning on them its simply not settling for shit effort and performance we can all accept being beaten by a better side
