No........paying fans should be going to watch a game of tennis............and its his job to play tennis not talk...........................................and if you want to hear what a highly emotional athlete has to say 2 minutes after the heat of battle then dont be surprised if he doesnt come across as " a nice man "
-
Apart from the amount of rounds now being limited to 12.............the sport of boxing hasnt changed in over 100 years !.......................ufc is barely recognisable from what it started off as,a mere 20 years ago.
-
If you market something as " a real fight "....then thats what it should be.........................as Simoman says that quickly changed due to outside pressure,ok you accept that to a point..........................but to then take that to the point of telling a world champion he cant fight a certain way because its not entertaining enough.......i think is the time it risks not even being a sport !
-
Brilliant pictures......much appreciated to you lads for taking the time to post your pics and exploits.......really interesting
-
Then like me.......you will know just how far it has lost the morals of what it essentially was.......................................a true fight !!
-
Dont sound like you have any idea what go,s with a competetive nature..................dedicate your life to something, live eat and breathe it......then reach the pinnacle and see if you dont have any emotion...............he was probably relieved it was over just as much as he was gutted at losing...........i just think its a shame we feel the necessity to shove a microphone in someones face when their at the height of their emotions.
-
Sometimes you just gotta accept being beaten by a superior opponent........Murrays a young lad never been in a Wimbledon final before playing against one of the all time great players whos won Wimbledon 6 times already......id say he gave a good account of himself and if he,s a true competitor this wont have done him any harm at all.......
-
I think in the main they try and power home the first serve and then if it fails they seem to rely on more spin/accuracy on the second........as regards the putting the ball into the corners....even for someone who knows nothing about the sport like me it seems obvious Federer is seriously strong on the forehand and Murrays trying to keep away from it.......think he,d rather force an error on the backhand than face his forehand......notice how Federer seems to run his body round the ball to enable himself to hit it on the forehand sometimes rather than play it backhand.......quite interesting

Far as im aware Wimbledon is the greatest " Grass " tournament not the greatest " outdoor " tournament..... As for the grass itself im no expert on lawn management or groundsmanship........but my guess is they probably know what they are doing as regards how the surface plays rather than what it looks like.
-
It started off as " no rules "...." cage fighting " whatever you want to call it.....it was started to see what the outcome of a " real fight " would be........yes id call that a sport. Ok over the years the rules have changed to suit tv etc........but it should still essentially be " a fight " not a means of entertainment.....i dont care how a fight ends as long as its a true fight...............................if the management are going to dictate how one of the greatest fighters of the sport wins his fights your on a steady path to silly boys wrestling................you cant tell someone
-
.....I dont know much about tennis..............but my guess is the fact Murray is playing in a Wimbledon final suggests he knows what he,s doing..... id rest easy mate
-
If im not wrong it takes a good 45 mins to get the roof sorted

As we know the division is the weakest its been in years meaning ( with all due respect ) a fighter like Fury is a top 10 ranked fighter.....i dont feel the Klitchkos need to avoid anyone simply because i dont think theres anyone out there who can beat them at this moment....is Mormeck any more credible of an opponent than Fury no probably not.......but Furys career at the moment is going backwards not forwards......why he is engaging in fights with the cabbie and this fella last night i really cant understand.......its all very well saying he has bigger fish to fry and he is going to win the
-
Brookie i always look out for your boxing posts as i think you speak sense.....and as ive said before i wish Fury every success he,s a great talent for one so young....... But saying " ty has much bigger fish to fry at the moment "........................i dont understand that.....i dont really understand how a fight like that last night was even allowed to take place....Fury is a world top 10 rated heavyweight.............how he was allowed to fight an opponent last night who was rated 208th is beyond me !!!!! I understand the need to protect Fury and i dont fall for all the stalling tac
-
That pretty much sums up everything wrong about the ufc...........what started off as a pure challenge to see what style of fighting could win over the other.................over a very short period of time has turned into " who cares what style of fighting wins fights, just entertain me "..........and thats coming from the MANAGEMENT of the organisation not fans !!!.........................sad waste of a potentially great sport if you ask me.
-
Oh ok fair enough......i was under the impression from the way the thread reads that he was his trainer....................must admit i dont really keep up with mma........in that case i spose theres no harm in showing him a few things
-
I always make a point of not looking for more trouble than ive already got
-
Your either a fan of sport or a fan of sportsmen........................im not a fan of sportsmen hence i couldnt give a shit if they are nice people..............im a fan of sport so it matters not to me the personality of people who play it. If you want to buy an autobiography about a person who has very little experience of life then thats your problem........like i say.....your either a fan of sport or a fan of sports stars.....myself im a fan of sport.

Yep it was all good thanks mate.....very lucky in that i picked the warmest week they,ve had up there all year.....had a few uncomfortable moments ...but all in all i think i did ok for a first timer at that camping lark.....put it this way i,ll be doing something similar later in the year with the same mate i had the bet with.......so certainly didnt scar me for life
-
Clearly you missed the point.......it takes a lot more than fighting skills to be a great trainer............. How are his motivational skills, how does he read a fight tactically, what is his conditioning knowledge and dedication like, can he click and bond with a fighter, can he pick a fighter up when the chips are down, can he get the absolute best out of a fighter.............................................theres a lot more to sucessfully training fighters than " being a black belt ".
-
Bruce Lee a trainer of champions ? If thats how it worked Muhammed Ali should of been the greatest boxing trainer of all time......................in reality people like Dundee,Futch,Arcel,Freddie Roach are the greatest trainers of all time....and they were very average fighters themself.......i would imagine it works the same in mma. Steven Seagal .....maybe Amir Khan should get Rocky Balboa in his corner !
-
Im a big fan of the Greek Islands, mostly the less well known ones ive never had a bad holiday there..................places like Egypt,Morrocco,Tunisia etc are all hit and miss you might have the time of your life or you might come away disappointed......................if you can take regular holidays then go for it if its no good so what.......if its not such a regular thing then go somewhere with a bit more of a reliable reputation. Only my opinion like.

Most charities will be more grateful for a regular monthly donation than a 1 off action man style adventure .....but somethings better than nothing of course so good on you. Very sorry for your loss.
-
I didnt know that about Ian Wright either mate.....i know he,s either director or owner of some little Isthmian League club i forget their name now......and isnt he coach at Milton Keynes Dons........first ive heard about him owning a Yank club i wouldnt know. Freddie Sears staying at Colchester didnt surprise me as much as we all liked the kid he wasnt premier league standard its an old mistake we seem to always make at this club being loyal to local lads rather than moving them on at the right time......if he does come good Allardyce wont be too popular, but then he,s not anyway Glad to he
-
Hoorraayyyyy !!!!.....Someone else who thinks the same as me Only in this f****d up country to people judge a professional sportsman by " if he,s a nice man " or not...................he,s a tennis player for f**k sake he,s not your friend how could someone say " i dont like him " when you,ve never even met or spoke to him..............i blame this dopey big brother type reality tv popularity contest f****n nonsense............any sportsman who appears on tv these days it suddenly becomes " do i like him ".....not how good is he..... I couldnt give a flying bollock if Andy Murray is a grum
