A poll of armchair sports fans or a poll of competetive sports folk ? i know which id put more weight in ........................but then coming from a man who thinks Hartlepool has produced world great fighters.....i think i,ll stick to my " cockney old school ways " and not try to swim against the tide.

I thought he done great for such an inexperienced young lad.......refreshing to see such a fine looking athlete at heavyweight as well...... Win or lose theres a pro career there for him.........................Think if he pops in and out rather than planting his feet and loading up so much he,s got a great chance of gold the Italian dont look to nimble on his feet.

Max some people show their experience,knowledge and understanding with every word they say and its not difficult to see when they are bullshitting...................i could sit here banging on about fishing or some other subject i dont have a clue about like you do...........and it really wouldnt be difficult to spot after a while ! Michael Johnson was more known for the 400m than the 200m.................if im not wrong he still holds the world 400m record of 43.18............think he held world records at both at one time...................... If i had to choose id rate Johnson above Bolt at this moment....Johnson did it over years,for me he was a very unique athlete....how a man could cover the ground so quick with that upright style i,ll never know........i found his style and ability fascinating to watch......Bolt is an amazing athlete.....but his gifted physical tools give him a huge head start....not just his size

Good luck to them im sure they have the necessary speed/skill and effort it takes to be sucessful at amateur boxing...............for me amateur boxing is the equivalent to a five a side football match with no tackling...............and i wouldnt go out my way to watch that either even though i love football............the fact its women makes it even less appealing...

NO....its the fact we are a great sporting nation,its not complicated............................its also worth keeping in mind we have had several poor performances as well as some great ones........Cavendish f****d up.....Tom Daley f****d up.....the triple jumper whatever his name is f****d up......probably a number of others as well..........Theres good argument to feel we should be dissapointed with what we have achieved,we could of achieved a lot more................but you take the rough with the smooth and be happy with the success we,ve had.

He showed a lot of courage in the Carl Johanssen fight a few years ago.....he,s a rare type of fighter in todays times he,s had a few proper old school gym wars i remember one with Michael Lomax another when he was little more than a kid with Nicky Cook.....its not really the way to do things these days,dont leave your best fight in the gym and all that...................but it does give you the confidence to know its in the locker if you need it......the Murray fight i thought Kevin totally outboxed out thought and outfought him.

I wasnt aware Bruce Forsythe Sean Connery or Paul Mccartney played sport..........................im not defending gameshow hosts or washed up singers...........im defending top level sportsmen ! so am I but how can we or they justifi giving the last two knight hoods. Interesting choice of name you have there. Really looking forward to this fight Kevins in the best mental shape ive ever seen him attitude wise he,s done everything right and will leave the ring after with no excuses win lose or draw.......and its that attitude that i think might get him a decision win.......I have every respect for Ricky Burns he,s a pure athlete and a credit to the sport and both boys have conducted themselves with class...........i hope like ive never hoped before that Mitchell wins the fight but he will need everything he has to beat him.....i just think the best Kevin Mi

Cracking little write up there. My opinion is there is no better place than an amateur boxing gym for a boy to learn the vital skills and discipline needed not just in a boxing ring but in life itself..........As long as a young athlete can keep an open mind the further he progresses and not be blinded by " this is the way " and can remain an individual theres no reason a lad shouldnt gain great qualities in every area of life from amateur boxing..................pro boxing will be for very few of those lads and as long as once he turns pro he is prepared to forget near everything he learned
