They do get something for it......they get money......its called a job.... of which they study/train to earn a living,they,re not forced to do it.............................that cant be compared to top sportsman who have a very rare skill/talent.............. Theres a million and one people who could become fireman or nurses if given the opportunity.................there is only a very tiny amount of people who can win Olympic gold medals or perform at the very highest level of sport. As much as i think nurses and fireman are underpaid......they dont deserve a knighthood for doing a job

hmmm fair point.......i hadnt really give much thought to the birds i dont really follow womens sport.....but id still imagine the whiteys are pretty rare at distance running.

Always makes me laugh when people describe professional athletes as being " shit " and " a shambles "..............why are they shit ? because they are not the best in the world !!!......Tell me,you lads who are calling them shit......are you the best lathe operators,factory floor cleaners,fork lift truck drivers etc etc in the world ?.......if not would you accept it if i called you shit at your job ? When you get the financial jealousy out of the way sport becomes a whole lot more clear.......not everyone can be the best As regards Fifas rankings...........they are a joke..............

I dont know how old you are but i would guess its partly due to the way old school values are slowly being replaced with cool trendy new ideas................like women boxing ! Ok we,re talking about women boxing on this occasion but it could be many other things.....women firefighters whats all that about................if i was stuck in a burning building id rather have a 16 stone powerful man coming to rescue me than a 10 stone woman....................again.......its a compromise on the very sport/job they are doing...all in the name of equality and keeping up with the times.....never mi

The reason being Mochara..............guts/gameness call it what you will............is not pretty,its sometimes very scarey,and it can come with lasting damage and severe consequences on occasion...................while thats a trait i admire in a man or dog...................its not something i ever wish to see a woman put through. Yes Geoff Capes was a very strong man and no slouch for such a big guy...............his main rival of the time was another of my sporting icons......i was fortunate enough to meet him up in your fair land he was competing in the Highland Games we spoke about gyms very kind and decent man................second strongest man in history in my opinion........brilliant athlete,brilliant man. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wth4bKK7BkI

For years Malt that theory held a lot of weight in the sports world.......up till quite recently it was pretty much accepted that the strongest men in the world were predominantly Scandinavian.........Strongman contests were almost always won by Icelandics/Norweigans/Swedes/Finns etc etc.........................over more recent years the Strongman contests and weightlifting in general titles have been more shared throughout the world Yanks/Eastern Europe etc.......for what reason i dont know.......but i agree theres definately something in it as blacks are still not represented in strength eve

If your daughter sticks at it to adulthood.....please God she never takes a serious hiding,but if she does you may well change your opinion............im not talking about getting sparked out im talking about a battle that takes something out of a person.......any person. After all said and done if womens boxing cant be taken to those levels then its a compromise on what the sport essentially is.... For keeping fit yes great.....................for dig down deep traumatic battles....no way.

I wouldnt be buying that exact one im not too bad with a saw so would just be using that as a guide.............i dont want anything too big so sizewise its what i want.....i would be able to put a door in the back as its going to back onto a shed.....so losing birds and practicality shouldnt be an issue.

Exactly.....the Jamaicans in the sprints......the Africans in the distance events.....had not really come into their own at that stage....... When Alan Wells won the 1980 100m.....6 of the 8 starters were white........................in the 2012 100m none were white !..............same applies to the distance events.

Im not missing out if i dont like it. I could watch my son go through a long hard possibly dangerous battle and be proud of him.......i couldnt watch my daughter go through a long hard dangerous battle without feeling ashamed that im not protecting her.....................different strokes for different folks i guess.

Nobody said they " cant " do it Max thats not anyones decision to make.............like Stan said i,ll never watch it.....and im a massive boxing fan............ It would break my heart to see my daughter take even 2 minutes of the punishment myself or anyone else took.................so in my eyes if its not right for my daughter its not right for yours either.......................but then we dont have to like it folk will do whatever they want to do and thats how it should be.

Totally agree.............ive never met a man who himself has got in the ring who can hand on heart say they are ok with womens boxing.................for me its everything thats wrong with amateur boxing in general and thats not being disrespectful to the sport...... A boxing match should be like a story book....it should have a beginning a middle and an end..................only difference being you dont know how many pages the book has or where/how it will end.................Of all these fights we have seen in the Olympics has there even been 1 ko ?.............2 men know their intention

I did start to explain with a load of scientific bollocks but got completely bored myself after a few lines ....................suffice to say......a purebred black African will NEVER win a worlds strongest man contest.......same as a purebred white European will NEVER win the 100m...................but crosses of both have the potential to do great things between the extremes of each......as we are starting to see now,and will continue to see in generations to come......................
